the drivers installed but i dunno what happend to the x-fi software i just go the usualy realtek thing

i just hit setup is there any other stuff to install to get the xfi utlility?

eitherway with just the modded driver its too good makes my headphones sound MUCH better and the speakers ive yet to try but must sound better

i didnt know if the voices were dull due to the headphones or the pc but its a software thing i guess coz its all clear now

THANKS A BUNCH :respect:

to get the creative stuff you have to dl the utility (link in first post) as well.

That was a weak pun :p

in scotland when something is good or if we are cool with something we say 'sound' example "sound ill do that" or "thats sound man"

that pun was pure coincidence

"sound as a pound but twice as round" i dont get it either btw

I have a novel idea to get the software working. If all goes well I'll post it up for people to try.

mega upload wont work for me.

Both links are working fine here in FF.

With a little inginuity my idea has largely worked, no equalizer though (yet) trying something else for that.

yeah the software dosnt work but the drivers are excellent

just tried the drivers on vista x64

If you want most of the features while waiting on my other attempts, download any x-fi creative driver, extract the archive with winrar, and run the "AppSetup", this will install the creative audio control panel, which is NOT time limited, and gives you all the features bar the equalizer.

i think its a creative problem dosnt recognise the onboard but the realtek still works fine even tho creative software dosnt recognise it

this mofo is calling bull shit on your mods, i linked him this thread hope he chokes on his stupid x-fi

Is the x-fi mb driver needed for that or does it work with just the realtek driver?

Thanks

The modded Realtek driver substantially improves audio quality, but to get all the features you need to install the X-Fi MB utility, or if you can live without the equalizer, install the creative audio control panel. I'll be uploading the latter in a bit and editing the first post with a link.

Let us know your results in sound qaulity improvements

I can live without the equalizer, the problem is that i got the x-fi driver with the appsetup from this driver SBXF_PCDRV_LB_2_18_0008 and it says that the audio device supported for the application is not found, so i thought that maybe i would need to install x-fi mb anyway :S

Nope no need for that. The X-Fi MB utility appears to have a Vista bug, so just install the modded drivers followed by the creative audio control panel (AppSetup) and your good to go.

he was like aw "you think that your onboard is better than my xfi, the creative might not be highend but its better than onbaord anyday" thinks that creative is amazing, "i dont use vista... vista is this and that" load of bs bad stuff about vista, tried to big up creative like its the shit

he does retro gaming reviews some of which are okay but he thinks he knows to much about pc and blabs a load of shit coz he works in some shop, he was like newegg is awesome but contradicted himself by saying that he only supports local stores hed never use a online retailer, he was like aw a 9600gt is a midrange card, a 4850 is a top range

he thinks your mod is impossible basically

he was like before crystalliser is great and then was like i dont even use it!

he was just sayin it in the comments not the video, i was saying his pc is shitty lol and that he was talking crap about it

EDIT: forget it hes not even worth the time and effort i was mearly tryin to say his x fi was shit and my onboard was probly just as good with your drivers, hes an idiot if he thinks creative are good probly just trying to assure himself he didnt waste $100 when he did, he just does reviews and stuff he dosnt know what hes on about when it comes to pcs

hahaha :D that would explain why he sounded like a muppet in the 30 seconds or so i did listen to of the vid. somebody should make a vid of this mod installing and working on their system and whack it on youtube, id love to see him choke on that :D

Ketxxx, my drivers show the same name, and control panel. The install wiz (or I think Driver Signing) says that it doesn't know the Windows Logo before this happened. Should you have 64-bit drivers for XP 64-bit? Also, it makes buzzing noises when I move my mouse if I switch to headphones.

its not like he was doing it in the video that was just where i was arguing about his pc, it was just what i said in the comments, he was like onboard cant sound as good as a real x fi

when infact mines sounds pretty good to me
