About those browser plugins: they generally create more problems than they solve.

Well to me just the background of text is a little bright for me and do wish it was a little more gray to take the edge off :P.

TPU with dark theme is [H]ardforum. No need.

It doesn't have to be that dark. Just darker, and easily switchable. That way I can switch it on whenever I'm browsing in the dark so my eyes don't hurt.

I'd even support basically the same color scheme, just reversed. Put the dark blue that is usually the accent as the background, make the light blue the accent.

You need to realize that you are asking Mr. Gandalf (W1zzard) to turn black/gray/dark.

You are asking too much.

I do hope W1zzard is better than Gandalf.
I mean summon eagles and sword fighting? Everybody knows a wizard doesn't multi-class.

Those that tried that plugin in Edge, I can't agree it's poor. It works well and is not just "darkening" (more like inverting colors like in Accesebility) Maybe you are not on Creators?

Well to me that looks absolutely horrible. Inverse colors means you'll end up with super bright on super black, it's probably even more painful. Not to mention the loss of contrast between buttons and the page itself, some text being hard to read, etc. etc.

Well, you're not seeing half the elements on that page, yet you can't agree that "it's poor". It's hard to argue with that.

Perhaps it is not just random shoot either black or white. May be some science can help or studies. One of the easiest on the eyes font is "Verdana" according to some studies. So may be we can switch the text on TPU on Verdana + the easiest on the eyes colour ? Go full retard you know ;) not just the colour. I am a big advocate for getting less eye strain.

It's all subjective, you can't apply science and get a definitive answer. That's why we have themes in the first place.

Back the truck up here....I beg to differ.

I was Reading the Tea leaves (tea bag split )
tea leaves say" too bright at night wear cheepo sun shades":cool::cool:

Ha... hey fellow TPU members what ya think?

Hey @W1zzard I just ran the new YouTube in dark mode and totally love it!

Any way TPU can have the same option for a black background?

Us ol timers eyes are like piss holes in a snow drift you know:lovetpu:

Dark background with light lettering is easier on the eyes

Thanks, just a slider switch in our user profile settings would be great... so if the user wants they can have the regular or have a dark mode.

All visitors or non members would just have the page as you have it now..
I don't imagine offering the option is the issue, but rather configuring/developing the dark theme itself.

Any Time Frame on that Upgrade
XF 2.0 isn't even released yet, it's currently in developer preview beta stage. I guess some time this year
