I did some tests with the shotgun - If you are 3 foundations away (I measure everything in game by building foundations), then the odds of you hitting the centre of your crosshair are slim to none. You have to be at least 1 1/2 foundations away from the target in order for all the shrapnel to hit the general body of the target. After I did a bunch of tests with the range and made some calcs with print screens of the general bullet spread of the shotgun (I must have gone through about 200 shotgun shells), I came to conclusion the gun is pretty worthless other than for scaring people (no silencer attached).

The revolver however (only on Rust++ ???) is ridiculously accurate and almost no recoil. I could headshot fast zombies from 100 meters away while they were running. Damage is a bit cack though.

I might try to jump back on @WhiteNoise's server, because the community is far more awesome, just depends on how the lag treats me.

Haven't tried the P250 yet. I take it it uses 9mm?
I quite like the shotgun, not just for "panic mode." It's great for when you feel like you need a weapon in your hands to feel safe; charging wolves and zombies take a single shell to drop. Just make sure you use a laser sight or it definitely leaves something to be desired.
The revolver is always accurate, not just on ++ servers. It has a hell of a recoil issue if you don't pause between shots and doesn't put out great damage, but as you said, is great for headshots on zombies.
 
Yeah the Revolver has nothing to do with Rust++. It was the replacement for the starter pistol. replaces 9mm
 
Ok TG guys are dick faces. I seen them in a field so I went on by until I started hearing shots at me from them so I ran to the rocks and somehow he HS me with a P250 and I had a M4 with halo/silencer/flashlight

Yeah, they are complete dicks. I got chased through my field, dodging bullets. Because of the thick forest, I was able to make it into a rocky area and hide for a bit, but that pissed me off. It was while I was hauling all my goods from my shack to my house, too, so my heart was racing at the thought of losing all of my guns, ammo, and raw materials. Luckily my instinct was to run the opposite direction of my new base, so I hope they didn't find it.
 
WhiteNoise, you're running out of GorillaServers right? I'm going to try some latency tests to see if I can get reasonable ping to help me decide whether I buy RUST or not. I'd like to play with a familiar community.

I know i'm running around with [TG] in my name but I am in no way running with my guild mates in this game. The only....I mean only reason I added TG to my name is so they MIGHT not kill me. lol

I've been with this guild for over 5 years now and we mostly play BFBC2 and MMO's together. There are tons of members but only around 8 or so playing rust. When I invited them to the server I had no idea they'd become monsters lmao.
 
Oh okay, LOL. That means that FPSPlayers is running off of GorillaServers' colocation then.

I borrowed my brother's Steam account (he lives in the US) since he owns Rust. I'm going to try and join the server in a bit to test the latency.
 
So jumped on the server looking for places and stuff. There's this big ass town I'm assuming those TG guys are making. Anyways, see a guy on rocks ahead of me, start to stalk him. He is looking at me..hear footsteps on rock above me. Shoot that guy once or twice, he jumps down and starts running towards the other guy. Finish him off, and then the other guy starts shooting at me with a bolt action (me with M4+scope). I get shot, duck behind a rock, take a few potshots, eat, get shot again, potshots, etc. Finally killed him, he hit me twice. I was going to raid both their bodies, then I see yet ANOTHER guy running up. Kill him, start to raid their bodies. Get shot from behind, book it out of there with 6 health. Sheesh. One of them was the TG guys ;). I play dangerously because I travel alone. I got about 6-8 guns off their bodies and some grenades/misc ammo (got bolt action which I didn't have either) so it was good. Pretty sure they are gunning for me now. :D

Sorry I was paying attention to my loot and/or getting away from the battle scene safely. I did not..I signed off for now though. Best thing to do is take a look at www.rustmap.net and try to locate landmarks. The road goes around in a circular fashion so once you find that you're kind of set. /starter will get you a basic hatchet and bed, you can easily craft a small shack with a bit of wood. I can set you up with a pistol and/or MP5 and some ammo next time I'm on if you need.

Sounds like you guys are having a load of fun with this, reading this thread makes me wanna buy it. Is it a total time eater like wow or something ? Cause I don't have much time to play nowdays

Last night was pretty tense, either I got insane luck, or the three fools were amputees.
Went walking around late night, farming some stuff. Hear the sound of an arrow fly past my head. Hear some guys snickering. They have guns but one of them is firing a bow for the lulz. Sneak up on top of some mountain rocks, nothing but a P250 equipped with a silencer and some minerals I don't want to lose. They lose me, can't find me. Followed them all the way to their big ass tower. Had enough wood on me to build foundations and posts and 3 sets of stairs.

Build climbing tower, jump in through the window. They heard me, they turn off all fires and commence crapping themselves. They sound panicked, hear shutgun blasts go off all over the place. I haven't even moved wtf?
Walk downstairs, headshot a guy twice with P250, he dies, see a sleeping bag, axe it with my pick super fast. Commence down next set of stairs (there's no metal door here lolwtf), empty 8 rounds into a guy who's sat in a corner. Hear him bitching on voice chat before he dies of blood loss. Last guy runs through a metal door across the room, blasting in the complete wrong direction. Literally he empties 24 rounds of him M4 into nothing, I don't even know what he was shooting at. Sneak up to him with shotgun I just picked up from chuckles upstairs, empty 2 rounds into his back.

They left all their doors open. Looted about 1k wood and metal, and 12 research kits. Dropped the shotgun and ran home with my P250, now my favourite gun and will forever be remembered.

Stole that guys bow too.
 
Wished I could have played last night but didn't have time. Yesterday Erocker bailed on me within like 5 minutes of him connecting LOL I need to research his rad vest and I will be able to craft a whole suit.

@WhiteNoise What is the player limit for supply drops? I want to try and research explosives. I have the charge but need explosives to craft.

Current server doesn't have drops, which sucks. Makes me want to jump back to the US server and deal with lag, because i can craft explosives and bolt action rifles!
