You dont need to change the BIOS to get legacy mode working, you just disable secure boot and re-enable CSM.
That wont let you run a modern OS that needs UEFI, but it does let you see the BIOS with an older or incompatible graphics card
Typically gpus would sometimes need gpu bios update. But sometimes mobos need bios update for newer gpus, this is a bane with uefi.
