Hi, thx in adv.
You can find attached pic.

This is not original rom and I've found that out in the meantime, it is TPU rom I've saved long time ago that I thought it is good.
New discoveries and attempts:
- disassembled GPU, I have no picture to prove, but memory is Hynix 100%... As you can see on GPU-Z sc, it says Samsung
- I tried some atiflash tricks (DDU driver uninstall, than CMD with admin rights -unlockrom, after that force flash with Hynix rom bios downloaded from TPU, but I get SSID and 0FL01 errors all the time)

I don't know if flash from USB stick and DOS boot would help?

Thx mate for trying to help! :)
What specific card model do you have, rx580 is a generic name

Your bios is from this.

Do the Hynix chips have AJR or MJR

I found old pic from HiveOS, it is Hynih H5GQ8H24MJR
Asus support was poor to say the most

2017 04 16, is a very old bios

This bios has AJR ram, only experiment if you know how to recover from a bios flash.

From 2021

The Strix Gaming bios (any of them that have MJR) may work if you force flash the Subsystem ID.

I noticed on a few of the Asus RX 590 Bios that Hynix name was specified but samsung model number was being used @W1zzard is that due to bios mod? (1411/2000)

I understand, thx mate.
I will try this one today, it seems fine, subsys ID match - https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/234073/234073

EDIT: sorry, it is AJR, I'll better try older MJR with SSID 0517

Thats the AJR, be careful

Yes do the MJR only, AJR if you know disaster recovery
Hi, just to leave a feedback.
I've tried all of the ROMs and only 200389.rom is stable, with others I'm receiving hung and D3D errors, freezing OS also.
It is stable on highest video settings, tested Fortnite and Ride4, GPU is cold ~50C, decent FPS, all fine

Thanks a lot man, it was a big help :)

D3D errors and a random freeze, are classic symptoms of unstable "SCLK". (core clock)

Hello,

I am having the same issue. My motherboard is B450 Tomahawk MAX II. I've attached a screenshot from gpuz. I have never stumbled upon such a problem so I am very inexperienced when it comes to this. I only flashed the latest bios from the msi website for my motherboard. But it didn't help.

Can you help me out as well, please?

Thank you!

I hope this is the sticker that you need.

Also I've already updated the bios to the latest stable version on the msi website.

I had to verify you had a bios that matches the card.

Well from what it seems there are no newer bios outside of 2017 for E387 or E353. @Final_Fighter what do you think? A E366 might be able to help with a mod?
I was thinking of flashing an older version of the msi motherboard bios which is not win11 ready and has csm enabled will fix this? However, I am not sure whether it will support the 5600X. What's your take on this approach?

Look at the mobo bios info on the msi page and maybe attempt to do a cmos reset first before doing any kind of flashing.

I will provide you the latest 2017 bios for E387 and E353 for your gpu.

I've never flashed vbios and my card has no bios switch either. So I won't be able to fallback to the secondary if I brick it. Is it a big chance that this goes wrong?

Well with the info I gathered from the gpu(outside of you removing the heatsink to verify what ram is physically on the card), and from the gpu-z screen you gave me which appears the card is working correctly, there should be a 95-99% chance it works.

BUT you must have a backup plan for disaster recovery- An AMD APU, IGP (Older AMD/Intel), Intel core i, a spare known working GPU that you know works in your current system or another, or a spare system, otherwise a PC Repair Shop.

I have 2 guides in 1 thread that you can follow.

I tried CMOS reset and a new monitor with display port. Both monitor and cable are tested and are working. Still no image outside of windows. On this MSI page a couple of older bios versions are listed but I can't find any in depth information whether CSM is enabled or disabled by default. I searched in google but to no avail. Do you have any idea where I can find more detailed info of these bios version?

Enable csm in the BIOS
Most board makers have it enabled by default to reduce bootability problems

The defaulting to UEFI started with AGESA 1.2.0.6

Roll back to anything using 1.2.0.3c - on your board that would be 7C94v18 from 2021-07-09

I had the same problem and was able to solve the issue with a BIOS downgrade. I bought new CPU, mobo, and ram while re-using my RX 580 and kept getting a black screen on boot. I couldn't get into the BIOS to make any changes due to the blackscreen.

Specs:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5600
Motherboard: MSI PRO B550-VC (with 5000 Desktop Ready Sticker)
RAM: T-Force Vulcan Z DDR4 32GB Kit (2x16GB) 3200MHz
GPU: MSI RX 580 Gaming X 8G
PSU: Seasonic SS-660XP 660W 80 PLUS Platinum

The Fix:
The fix was to downgrade the BIOS to "7C56vI0" from "7C56vI1" that came with my motherboard. Under the description for v1, the description includes "Change the default setting of Secure Boot." This likely disabled CSM. Despite the fact that the motherboard was first available was August 26, 2022 - the BIOS version that provided compatibility was dated July 2022.

This video showed me how to flash the BIOS. Note that he chooses the newest BIOS, but I wanted to choose the oldest BIOS verison:
BIOS located on the MSI website: https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/PRO-B550-VC/support

Also, after gaining access to the BIOS, I changed the PCIE_1 setting from Auto to Gen 3. Unfortunately I didn't have an NVIDIA GPU to swap in and out: https://community.amd.com/t5/processors/b550-torpedo-rx580-no-image-black-screen/td-p/521589

Other things I tried:
I tried swapping cables and monitors. Didn't help.
I tried using a different PCIE slot, no dice.
I verified the BIOS on my RX580 using GPU-Z and AMDBFLASH. This video was helpful on how to fix if you have a used card that needs to flashed back.
I tried swapping the motherboard for a completely new one to rule out that the motherboard specific BIOS, but the problem transferred to the new MOBO. The board I swapped was an MSI MAG B550 TOMAHAWK Gaming Motherboard.

Thanks all for your help in this thread!
