who is better
model**amd semopron le 1100
model**intel celeron d 420
which is the best lowest price single core processor:banghead::banghead::banghead:

the celeron is better

i thought celeron was really bad one of the worst processor lines ever im sure the x2 3800 or the x2 3600 would be better in the long run

with that mentality the q6600 is better. ;)
the celeron is better than the sempy

This generation a celeron is probably a little better than a sempron. But the last few generations a sempron would kill a celeron. Honestly though for how cheap you can get a cpu these days why would you not spend an extra few dollars for an athlon x2 or even a core 2 duo. If you trying to go cheap get an Athlon X2 3800+ for $50 and oc the crap out of it.

I am actually using those both right now, LOL

The Celeron is better (512mb Cache VS 256 for the sempron)

Like everyone says a Dual core is just a bit more, I should have got one of those.

Celly, when overclocked. Sempron if stock.

Amen to that! I just went from a Celeron D 347 to the e1200 Celeron. Man what a difference that made!

well i was talking about the older celeron not the new ones anyway as everyone has said a dual core will give you the most performance per dough with that in mind i have an old athlon am2 3800 single core on top of my wardrobe i could do something with that i guess like make a linux box throw in a cheap ati 3650

They are pretty equal at stock, but I would take the Celeron due to the extra cache, but the Celeron should win when both are overclocked.

the new celerons are just C2D with cache/core disabled they keep dead even with a Athlon 64 in benches (clock for clock) go for the celly or get a athlon 64 skip the semprons
