Sidewinder computers.
I went ahead and ordered an aftermarket cooler from these guys.
It took them three freaking days to even send it out.
When I finally get confirmation I'm like wtf.. 3 days seriously?
So I email them to let them know I'd displeased with the outcome.
The guy cancels my order entirely without me even asking or telling them to.

This is after my credit card has been charged and everything.
Now I have to possibly wait for some 30 day return policy bullshit.
Then I have to worry about them being scumbags and possibly not even returning the money at all.
Stay away!

"Here is their response to me"

Dale,

I hate to trouble you so I went ahead and cancelled your order and refunded your Visa card, so you can order this elsewhere and get it faster than us. Thank you

Thanks for the tip, was going to make an order soon for some ramsinks off them. Looks like I'll take my money elsewhere.

Normally I take these kind of rants with a spoon of salt, but I don't think there's any way to explain why they cancelled your order 3 days after it was made without your consent. That's something I would definitely not deal with. Go on ResellerRatings and leave them a 1 star review.

What day did you order it? I never had a problem with them. If someone is smearing something else, I'd like to know more facts.

My last order that consisted of 8 feet of UV red tubing and some barbs got here in 3 days.

I have never had a problem with them
I vote this thread gets shut down

3 days ago from today was Sunday.

Yep I'd say Sunday, more like Saturday I ordered it. Regardless today is Wednesday and it just now shipped at like 4 PM. That's not good.
The main point is that they canceled my order without my consent, Now I have to go through their return policy, I never asked them to cancel it. They had no right to cancel it what so ever.
That's horrible business practice.

I have never had a problem with them

What do you work for them or something? I don't give a flying crap about your vote, wtf is wrong with people?
They canceled my order without my consent and you act like I screwed up? seriously, just stop, I'm already pissed off.

3 days ago from today was Sunday.

He says "like 3 days ago" that could be Saturday, Friday, who knows? Either way, I will continue to support Sidewinders, their customer support has been great for me, at one point they even gave me some pointers on setting up my water cooling. I suppose people can make mistakes and it takes a little longer to ship. I usually have patience for these kind of things.

What did you initially say to them via email, before you got this response?

Wow...major fail on Gary's part.

Proper response would have been "sry for the delay, we have been quite busy".

Not that your mail was all that pleasant either,

Are you kidding me,? It just shipped today after I ordered it like 3 days ago? There is no way you guys are that slow, if you are, I won't be doing business with you anymore.

but geeze...guess he think you might as well do what you said and go elsewhere. It's not like he makes alot for every purchase...

That's it, that is the only email. There are no more emails.
I got confirmation, I told them I was displeased with the delay, they canceled my order.. period.
It's not about the freaking shipping time people, it's about canceling my order in a very rude and unprofessional way.

You can see my initial statement at the bottom of their reply.
That is 100% all I wrote. Regardless that was hands down the worst response I have ever gotten from a seller.
I won't be doing business with them again.

When you quote a shipping time, you need to be able to honor it, that's common knowledge and shouldn't be up for debate, it is what it is. You say I'll have it in 4 days, I shouldn't get it in 10.. That's what it would boil down to after waiting through the weekend when all is said and done. 10 days at least, if not more.

On a side note: I am a business owner, what I said to him was rude like it's rude for a scorpion to sting a frog.
Man get use to it, in business people say all kinds of rude things. I've had shit said to me that would kill an old lady where she stands and I just keep doing my job "professionally".

One thing I never loose sight of when I deal with clients is the golden rule, the customer is always right.
Some of you seem to want to side with Gary because I was a "little rude" well Gary needs to get a sex change and get rid of his snatch apparently, business is business, deal with it like a man or get another business. What he just did was pathetic.

Well he is extremely slow, specially to respond e-mails. I usually go with FrozenCPU or PPCS

I've read that Sidewinders and Petra were suppose to be merging. Not sure how true that is. However, this is the 1st complaint I've read about them.

Clearly you ordered on a weekend and considering that sunday is that last day of the weekend you were last in the cue of things to be shipped of all orders during the weekend.

please delete this thread, the OP is just being unnecessarily impatient.

Tbh your correspondence to them was a tad harsh. I'd never do that personally (perhaps I'd complain about slow service after receiving item safe and sound but not before :p).

However I agree with you on one thing - "the customer is always right" and to keep their clientele and the good image of their company I agree with Cadaveca ie saying "sorry about the delay, we have been quite busy" or something diplomatic to that effect. I run a small business myself and it's imperative to be diplomatic and kind to clients... even in the event that they are totally in the wrong (this is an example and not directed to the OP).

Cancelling an order without having instructions to do so from the buyer was a tad too irascible imo.

However, no one has heard both sides yet, so giving an opinion on who was right or wrong is very difficult.

So? I just RMA'd 4GB of DDR2 PQI they didnt have it in stock at newegg so what diod newegg do? they changed my replacement with "refund" i didnt know wtf was happening until the bank was like yo newegg just gave you money in an e-mail...i was pretty pissed. not to mention everything iv ever gotten from the california warehouse goes through 3 different citys and usually takes 4 days before it even leaves the state. But i'll keep buying from newegg. they said sorry when i was like um....were is my ram? they replied with. we didnt have any in stock and dont have an ETA so we credited you. I would have liked for them to just let me pick another kit in my price range. instead i think they wasted my time. but shit happens. I'll still do business with them.

Done and I don't take it lightly to write a bad review about someone.
I'm 33 not 13 and business is a very big deal IMO.
I would never do what was just done to me, to a customer.
Not in a million years.

I can be a prick, I totally agree..lol.. But I still do good business with people.

I can respect that. But on the same note I don't do business with people who piss me off.
Like I haven't bought a ubisoft game in like 4 years due to their DRM and badly made pretty games.
Even if it hurts me to stop using someone I will not give them my money if they do me wrong.

I too think your response was a little harsh, but if you are not happy with someone's service it is your right to critisize them.

That being said, it sounds like Gary was having a bad day and politely said KMA.

Sounds like he did refund you Visa immediately though.

So bad days make valid reasons to shit on the customer then?
These are points I shouldn't even need to state..lol You either do good business, or you don't.
That was my first time doing business with them, you think I would ever want to again after that? not a chance. Gary can KMA, and he can kiss the thousands of dollars I spend on pc's and parts away as well.

I have never had a problem with them

+1, I have ordered many times from Gary and never had anything but the best service.

I vote you shut your mouth. Want to be rude? I can be rude too.
These are facts, I could care less about weather or not you want to hear them.
It is what it is, and that's what he did. Go cry on Garys shoulder if you don't like it.

Its pretty obvious where the problem lies here...

im sorry but what did you expect everyone to agree with you? Its a matter of your perspective you were rude or perceived as rude. You stated you were no longer going to be a customer. As such he cancelled your order. it saves him stress and he isnt going to loose money you already said you weren't buying from their. so how is it bad business from my perspective? you wasted his time. You said it took 3 days you got angry. how is this a customer is always right senerio? you didnt demand anything. You didnt ask for anything. you didnt suggest anything.

Might I warn stores then, don't do business with Dale. After 3 days he sends angry mails without bothering to ask for the reason. He then tries to give you a bad name on internet forums.
He will also tell lies like "they canceled my order without me asking" even though he will tell you that he doesn't want to do business with you.

Maybe, but a good judge of a business is how they handle the worst situations. Gary had a chance to kinda fix the problem, but instead made it worse.

Sure, people have bad days, but that was going overboard, IMHO, regardless of the customer's attitude. It wasn't handled, in any way, professionally.
