I am not sure it's possible to skip that. I don't know of any setting that will allow you to skip it. Maybe fast POST?

Can't you clear CMOS by using the jumper? That would let you reclear... unless this is a laptop

if its your hard drive you should be able to put another hdd into that machine and boot without any problems

if you put another hdd in and it doesnt boot its the bios (corrupt/screwed up)

Yeah, its got 2 years warranty, I can upgrade it, but I dont want to void warranty yet, and it's an Acer Aspire T180 computer. Specs are Athlon 64 X2 +3800, 1GB RAM, nForce 4 chipset with GeForce 6100 SMA Graphics. According to the BIOS, Acer made the mobo as well.

is there any way the manufacturer can tell youve opened the case? (eg pop rivets, no screws for opening, or some sort of tamper label?)

keeping progs

due to not being able to open case on puter an external drive such as usb might be the ticket for saving data so you could take it back under warranty

*rolls off chair at this thread*

This is an enthusiast forum ya'know if you cant even open the case and you want help, then keep dreaming. If acer is that shit, DONT BUY FROM THEM.

Seriously, the average joe's are so screwed in the head.

Like Dell ads...

"Powerful Gaming PC"

with only 1GB of Crappy Valueram and a shitty 7300LE 128MB...
for 1.999k AUD, like LOL. I could build it for less than 1k AUD (main cause, crap mobo, crap PSU, crap GPU)

You cant even run oblivion on it!

thanks for the feedback on my suggestion but i have my own troubles. ive aquired a western digital 250gb hdd from a dvr system managed to format and get bios to recognize it as such but system will not get past dmi verrification while atached (1. will it take longer due to lrg hdd as slave) (2. not sure if system has the power to comply)
ive got: amd athlon(tm)xp 2200+ 1.80 ghz processor 504mb of ram (according to properties on my puter.
