SLI with different cards

same for me, games with dx12 crashed ( rise of thr tomb raider), and when disabled the gpus work together but dont pass 60%
I really think you guy should not care about card load unless your fps is lower than a single card. Just check and see if its higher than your single card fps.

Its the same fps as one
You might have to look at which DX12 implementation it's using DirectX 12. The problem maybe the driver just doesn't work with Dx12 for the game, because it's too old, or the game engine doesn't support it.

Multiadapter support will feature in DirectX 12 allowing developers to utilize multiple GPUs on a system simultaneously; multi-GPU support was previously dependent on vendor implementations such as AMD CrossFireX or NVIDIA SLI.[43][44][45][46]

  • Implicit Multiadapter support will work in a similar manner to previous versions of DirectX where frames are rendered alternately across linked GPUs of similar compute-power.

  • Explicit Multiadapter will provide two distinct API patterns to developers. Linked GPUs will allow DirectX to view graphics cards in SLI or CrossFireX as a single GPU and use the combined resources; whereas Unlinked GPUs will allow GPUs from different vendors to be utilized by DirectX, such as supplementing the dedicated GPU with the integrated GPU on the CPU, or combining AMD and NVIDIA cards. However, elaborate mixed multi-GPU setups requires significantly more attentive developer support.

fps x2 - of course. Else it dosn't make sense.,
That's not how scaling works in the real world.

Anyways Crossfire and SLI was easier to implement in DX11 in support it all you have to do is give the flags for it, for the drivers. DX12 however is looking like a complete mess regardless of developers. Microsoft just made the way to implement overly complicated. In the way they have two different ways to support Multi-GPU, and one of them usually the easier, isn't guaranteed either because it still relies on the driver flags anyways. Not to mention that now sometimes the game engine itself has to support it too.

@Noah2315 if you are using the pre-patched driver "nvlddmkm34709whql.rar" then there is no need to run the patcher.

Any help

Help will be slow - this mod was blocked by nvidia and hasnt been updated since 2016.

Any help you get is going to be from someone else who ran into the same problems trying to get it to work (and please understand, it's not exactly reliable or stable)

I have win10 and two Geforce gt 730, the program does not find nvlddmkm.sys. The file is, but not working, with this name nvlddmkm.sy_

Rename it manually.

The patch did not work with twin Geforce GT 730 graphics cards. Windows 10/64 bits, ASUS P5W DH.

It's been blocked by NVIDIA a long time ago.

The dif sli trick is for windows 7 afaik, you need to downgrade (or run a vm?).

I tried it with 2x asus gtx 750ti oc it pretty hit and miss with windows 10 a few years back to be honest it a waste of time doing it now. To make it work you have to use the specific nvidia driver not the latest one as for the gt 730 it not going to work well due to the limitations it have

The nvlddmkm.sys file is missing from C:\Windows\System32\Drivers. I think system reads it directly from C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\nv_dispi.inf_amd64_e2ba695c42c94535 . If I could just paste the patched file there I think SLI would kick in. But the system won't let me paste the file in that folder. Can that folder be unlocked?

You need a specific patched nvlddmkm.sys for it to work but your operating system needs to be in test mode for it to work but it could be in system32 where the nvlddmkm.sys is missing.

I was able to unlock the SLI but to activate it it asks me to close two programs;
SearchApp.exe
StarMenuExperienceHost.exe
I close them, but they open again.
BCDEDIT.EXE does not recognize it as an executable command.
Geforce gt 730 drivers: 388.13
Someone had the same problem?
SLI 2.jpg

I managed to activate the SLI. Two system programs prevented me, every time I closed them they would open. So I opened the Task Manager window, next to the Nvidia control panel. That way I was able to close the programs and activate the SLI.
Thank you all for your opinions and contributions with your knowledge, Blessings.

Hello everyone, this is my 1st post on this thread.

I have known about this thread for several years now, it is extremely fascinating.

Sorry for the quick off topic here but still involves very much into Sli:

Before going into my specific problems with DifferentSLIAuto, I would like everyone to visit my thread on our forum, it mainly only involves 4-Way Sli, and to this day, I am the only one in the entire world that has taken 4-Way Sli to this degree of a level, I been doing it constantly for over 3+ years and still currently very much active, no doubt, in one time or another, you may have come across with my thread.

Link to my thread:

If anyone needs help in their extreme Sli tuning in general, I am the man you seek for assistance.

Although, mainly all of my work pertains to only the Maxwell Based famiy, I have personally tried Pascal gpu's (Titan Xp's/yes 4-Way Sli does work without the need of DifferentSLIAuto), but only very minimal testing was conducted as the Pascal based gpu's were way in the future projects to come.

Back to the current problem I am facing:

I am trying to get the option for SLI to come up within NVCP (Nvidia Control Panel).

Before going any further, My test system are as follows:

OS: Win 10 x64 build: 15063 (RS2-RTM) Update version: 2679

Mobo: Supermicro X10DRG-Q

GPU Used: 2 Titan V's (With 2 Quadro Nvlink interconnects installed)

CPU: Dual Xeon e5 2670 v3

Ram: 32GB Micron ECC ram

PSU: 1300W Seasonic Prime

Also, speaking about the Titan V's, there was a user on my forum that I have constant contact with, this is the same person who told me how to unlock/Bypass the 2-Way Sli lock that involves with the Pascal based GPU's, he told me that, he had personally gotten 4 Titan V's to work with the help of DifferentSLIAuto, and get this, without the use of those NVlink interconnects, and using the same exact motherboard as I am currently, the os he used was: Windows Data Center 2016.

He also said there was another method to get 4 Titan V's to work under 4-Way Sli while using the Quadro Nvlink interconnects, have to use the GV100 32GB Quadro card as a stepping stone (Main Gpu), then do the bios recovery flash method to the Titan V's, he says it works without issues.

The name of this specific user that I have contact with: Venturi, he is also on our forums as well, he also goes to other sites, no doubt you all might seen his system work before.

Just to let everyone know, I have really did some reading on here and did exactly what it said to do, although the patch successfully goes through, no errors within the Install.CMD, I got some warnings, both the Install.CMD & DifferentSLIAuto.exe, I uploaded 2 images so everyone can see.

Yes, I used the correct graphic driver version for DifferentSLIAuto 1.7.1(Shows up as 1.6.1 for some reason), 388.71, on top of that, I also went under device manager > Display > Titan V > Properties > Driver > Driver Details, and there was no nvlddmkm.sys, strangely enough, it was in the nv_dispi.inf_amd64_d37ca5c2cde53609 folder, within the MY PC > Windows > System32 > DriverStore > FileRepository.

Again, I uploaded 3 images so everyone can see.

So just now trying to get the option to get SLI/Nvlink to even show up, Both Gpu's shows up properly however.

Looking into Hex editing as well.

Thanks for reading.

Ok, I gotten the 2 Titan V's in Sli to show up and it is currently being enabled.

Uploaded 2 images as proof.

I will post on the results later, cheers.

hiii...can i SLI with my gpu rtx 3090 and gtx 1080 ti?
No. Please at least do some basic reading before attempting complicated mods like this.

ok sir...but im so sad coz 1 cannot sli my gpu already
You'll be sadder if you kill a GPU or break your operating system trying to do the impossible.

Got 4 Titan V's to register properly:

Far as initial testing results, Please go to my Extreme 4-Way Sli thread on page 57:

I am also looking into hex editing and have a good question here:

How do you know precisely which offset to use as there is literally millions of them, which one do I have to look for, very new into hex editing and would like to get into it more.

Also, I want to get Quadro 392.65 to 392.68 to work, I have used this on my GTX 970 4-Way Sli, been using it for sometime, works excellent, if anyone could help me with the offset for it, would most greatly appreciate it.

Also, if possible, an offset for the Tesla 492.78, this one worked excellent with rise of the tomb raider under DX12 with my 4 GTX 970's.

Looking into the 511.xx / 512.xx variants as well, thanks again.

4 way sli? Thought all that ended years ago?
