The cross-linking with FUD would not cause angst with the regular forum members as it's way over-the-top, but imagine the thousands of people who just view the main page as a guest who are not forum members. :laugh:

The funny thing about the "Mussels Incident", was that it was not planned at all.

Mussels started to manipulate his account to make himself look banned as a pre-4/1 joke.
Some banter occurred amongst the mods to help him make it look completely believable.
Easy Rhino, then commented that it was fail and the only way to make it believable was to really ban him.
Cue W1zzard's Banstick™ .

The rest was just winging it as it unfolded.
One of the reasons that some of the more observant members saw discrepancies in the mods' posts was that we did not have a chance to all get on the same page with a cover story.
It's funny that it built itself into the main prank (for the members) through their own posts (whether they believed it or not).

So ... thanks for helping out guys.

A prank that I think would cause a fair amount of pandemonium on the forums would be that whenever someone posted, the board would pick a random member name to be displayed for the post (althought the real user would be credited with the post).

After a person submits post, what he wrote would be full of: liek, taht, teh, wrod...

And some other substitutions - imagine like every time the word "computer" is posted, it transforms into the word "wife"
