The official system requirements for the Call of Duty: modern Warfare Beta have been outed, and these should remain pretty close to the final release version requirements. If you want to enjoy the game's implemented NVIDIA RTX features, you know you'll have to have an NVIDIA RTX graphics card - that part is pretty straightforward.

Luckily, the system requirements for non-RTX gameplay aren't too steep; this is a Call of Duty game we're talking about, after all. Even though these games usually offer more than adequate graphics, this is a twitch shooter; the better frame rates players can have, the better and more fluid the action is; and hence, an optimized game engine is key. For the minimum system requirements, a Core i5 2500K "or AMD equivalent" is required, paired with an NVIDIA GeForce 670 2 GB (jeez, they really went into their dust bin for this one) or, puzzlingly, a GTX 1650 4 GB; for the AMD camp, a Radeon HD 7950 is all that's necessary. The recommended specs call for an Intel Core i7 4770K "or AMD equivalent" paired with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 4 GB / GTX 1660 6 GB or an AMD Radeon R9 390 / RX 580. The games' beta will be available for all players tomorrow, September 21st.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Requires DirectX 12 compatible system
  • OS: Windows 7 64-Bit (SP1) or Windows 10 64-Bit (1709 or later)
  • CPU: Intel Core i5 2500k or AMD equivalent
  • Video: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670 2 GB / GTX 1650 4 GB or AMD Radeon HD 7950
  • RAM: 8 GB RAM
  • HDD: 45 GB HD space
  • Network: Broadband Internet connection
  • Sound Card: DirectX Compatible

Recommended Requirements
  • Requires DirectX 12 compatible system
  • OS: Windows 10 64 Bit (latest Service Pack)
  • CPU: Intel Core i7 4770k or AMD equivalent
  • Video: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 4 GB / GTX 1660 6 GB or AMD Radeon R9 390 / AMD RX 580
  • RAM: 16 GB RAM
  • HDD: 45 GB HD space
  • Network: Broadband Internet connection
  • Sound Card: DirectX Compatible

I was honestly hoping for much steeper system specs than this.
Optimized or not
Just saying...
It seems to me that when playing against people on junk ass systems on WW2 that it creates a special kind of lag...it looks like 30fps.
lag between people on higher system specs is just lag..

I know they want this open to a larger crowd but ffs...ugh

Call of Blurry: Please come back

With how this game looks, asking for a 2500K as minimum is nothing short of rude. I'd understand if an i5 750 was there next to an FX8350, sure.
Also with graphics, i'd step it down a notch

Same, idk why but when the reqs are low I always assume the game on "max" isnt as stunning as im generally lead to believe.

silly confusing name but OK

is that how it works? i thought lag was with ping not gfx settings.. hmm i guess i dont play online enough but im def going to buy a few copies of this game.

Yet new to this Call of Duty entry is cross-play multiplayer, so you can squad up with your friends across systems. o wow you can play xbox 1 vs pc, sounds like gfx settings wont matter for lag but just my opinion.

No...I'm just saying it seems like it...
I've played well with people in the RED of ping more accurately than quite a few people in green on junky systems...I know it's anecdotal...but it's hard to not notice

Just wun this game in Weekly EVGA Stream :)

There is a huge difference between those 2 cards.

It has low system requirements because the game moves slow....like console slow on a PC....
I'm really feeling a lot of MEHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

Call of Sloth...

Those system specs are based on Low / 60 FPS and high / 60 FPS. Playing online with highest possible FPS / lowest frametime is a complete different league.

call of blurry ? lel
no realy don't blieve the pictures it's not how it will realy look like it just hyping

That second screenshot looks really bad focus-wise... as soon as you look past the end of the sniper rifle it goes mega-blurry - doesn't look like DOF either, proper weird.

This is CoDMW in a nutshell. Don't believe me? try the free open beta.
Its a blurry mess. all of it. I don't even want to touch the stupid artistic decision to make dark corners pitch black. You can't see jack in most maps

I don't see nothing bad about 2500K being the "minimum", it's almost a 9 year old CPU.

by Default Ambient occlusion is set to both....Try one or the other. That gets rid of the ultra black corners.
Set Tesselation to all.
Anything as good or better than a 970-4gb/1060-3gb on 1080p should turn all the eye candy to absolute BLIIING!
I have no distortion or blur of any kind.
I'm starting to wonder if my 1070ti could run this game @4k at good detail settings and higher than 75fps.
This game runs as good as HL2 runs at 2560x1440 75fps...lol it really is super optimized and I'm getting used to the speed or it's just the progression of the game...really unsure at this point.
With DSR 4K this game is utterly smooth with a 1070ti...

I actually think it looks okay on my system, I don't mind it, different from WW2 but pretty enough, Realism mode was turned on tonight by the looks of it (had one game) which makes things much much better.

I'm getting 110-120FPS @2k everything maxed out on my 3900X/Vega64 (no CF support unfortunately so a nice idle card lol)

It's got good/fun gunplay. That's about it. Doesn't look good, doesn't bring much of anything new to the table. Can't destroy a small wooden box with a tank. Just another rehash and it's a no buy for me.

But you can shoot the chickens...
The chickens.
Think about it..

Nothing new but really good even on an old jenky PC.

+50 FPS lowest settings @1366x768p.
Check my system specs.

What I find most interesting is DX 12 and Windows 7 in the same section under Min Requirements, they doing what Blizzard did with Wow?

Heh, I switched from playing CoD MW beta to Squad yesterday, no matter what they'll do CoD will never come close to realism. Running speed, movement speed, aiming etc are all turned up to unreal values in comparison to Squad.

So a FWIW and I know a lot of ppl here have/hate Shadowplay, but Shadowplay defaults to Alt+F10 to record last X amount of minutes and CoD MW has a keybind to mute game sound with F10. Took me 10 minutes last night to figure out that the sound was hotkeyed to F10 when I recorded a moment in shadowplay.

not paying attention to new games coming out and this is the first I am hearing of this... don't understand the name? so COD MW and MW2 are really old games, is this a remake? shouldn't this be MW4 or something ? these names confuse me... no plan to play to game but I feel like I should at least give the beta a go, I love MW2 back in the day and have hundreds of hours of dropping nukes on noobs

They're essentially rebooting the original CoD4

Ah see that is what I felt but not paying attention, I'll get it tonight and see what I think.
