TechPowerUp Part of the Beautiful Web with Internet Explorer 9

did you run the cleartype settings assistant in windows ?

Yeah I googled it and it's well know issue with IE9, windows settings for cleartype have no effect on IE9.

F-it because of this I will download IE9 and give it a shot:shadedshu

Great one W1zzard, works great. Am using the 64bit version of IE9 and no problems whatsoever! Thanks.

edit:

IE9 sucks ass, still can't disable cleartype that gives text that fuzzy look, chrome and FF are way better.

Try this. It is an alternative font renderer based on the one in ubuntu. That's what I use because clear type is too sharp/fuzzy sometimes.

The jumplist isn't working for me. When I tick the links, nothing happens.

Im not much into IE but 9 I like and this app is awesome thanks a bunch..

been using 9 for ages its all good , and cheers tpu good pinning tabs i like it.

some expert trollin in this thread lol

Will have to try it when I get home. Downloaded IE9 last night.

Maybe this is why your site as well as one other i frequent can no longer be accessed with chrome. :(

Yep -I like it:toast::toast::toast:

It is technically just a shortcut, but with Jumplists (shortcuts to key areas of the site and reviews), something merely pinning a URL from Chrome or Firefox doesn't give. Also, launching a pinned IE9 jumplist gives you a shortcut back to TPU on the browser navigation bar for the session.

lulz, I knew about this when I had the RC 1 for IE9

nav buttons change to red =]

I like it. :toast:

OT: Is having IE, FF, Chrome, and Opera all installed, pinned and opened with multiple tabs each at the same time on a regular basis normal? Jesus I need to get out more...

Before today I cared about as much about IE and it's "features" as I did about, say, Facebook or Limewire but this is pretty freakin' cool. The excellent general visual integration with my Win 7 theme is really nice too (should be that way of course but sitll worth noting). Way too early to tell if it'll be default but so far I'm pleasently surprised.

Works fine here, just went to homepage, grabbed teh icon from address bar and dragged it to the taskbar. After clicking in to the site from the pinned icon, jumplist worked.

Neat stuff!

nice, very nice... need to upgrade my IE.
:D

i was impressed by the beta

Why have all the browsers taken the Chrome look all of a sudden?

Hooray for proprietary stuff that no one will ever use! :p Just kidding -- it's actually pretty cool, but I wish MS would extend this stuff to support other browsers in their OS. It would be painfully easy.

Sure but of course they would never do that. It took a antitrust ruling to get them to de-integrate it from their OS's themselves.

I don't know if it's official but that stands to reason.

I notice that when I pin TPU to the task bar I lose the menu bar (which was on before and had to be reset) and I completely lose Google Toolbar which manage add-ons says in all enabled and the default. GTB no longer apears in any of the drop downs to make it show again.
I also lose the home button at the top right.
Hmmm ...
