^^^^^^ Thats right there is every single part i would need to build a full working dualcore PC for 300.68 dollars SHIPPPED........ Fully shipped.

You can make a 300 dollar PC, but if people forget to put the shipping under the charge with taxes included it could make it a 360-400 dollar PC in reality. I could add a video card and make a 350 dollar PC, and to be Honest guys, if i just buy a bit better power supply, and a second hand 40-60 dollar 9600gso-8800gt i could max crysis on a 19inch 1440x900 and be happy with life, which is kind of cool to think about that you know :).....

It may be the cheapest but that CPU is real oldm its about half the speed clock for clock of a modern processor!

I used that processor and played crysis maxed out with a 8800gt on 1440x900 Ultra high :).

I know its really slow, but its still a good processor, and will pump threw almost every game, except some Console ports, and some massive MMO's that need that processor power to run good maxed out.. Also badcompany 2 might suffer :)

***EDIT*** If you think about it, there really hasnt been almost any demanding games that have come out actually needing something better then a q6600 to run.. And i know i could go to lan party's and beat people down in cod4 and tf2 maxed out with that processor running fine on 22inch monitors and below with the right video card acctualy(being the 8800gt). :D

***EDIT*** And i remember when ALOT of people were buying X2's when the q6600-q9000 series quad cores were barly coming out, they were the perfect price for performance and got the job done in alot of games that are still played today ;), i remember my dream system was to have a x2 6400+ and a 8800gtx in a rig, but now its more like some HD 5870's and a q9550 or better on water running equivlant to 4.0Ghz 24/7 easily

Toss this combo in instead and you'll get a much nicer running system for just under that $300 price tag you put on it. You could also remove that cpu cooler.

O crap, something even faster then my Dads PC ATM, easily...... HAahaahahahaa How 300 dollars for a FULL COMPUTER could be worth it.

To even think about it though. 300 dollars for a full custom computer, or 300 dollars for a itouch, or anything Ip000d from apple. I mean i could get a PC cheaper then a iphone fully paid off, and by the time i pay off a iphone, i could be maxing crysis with the upgrade between the 2 years of payments by then haahahahaha :D.....

Just to think how dirty cheap systems got, and how we dont even need quad cores still for all games out there mandatory... The games arnt improving but buy the time there are new consoles, im pretty confident will already have a nvidia and ati 3d vision monitors and dx12 graphics going to rape consoles instantly when they come out Lolz.z.aspd]apendth

True I found a 5000be acceptable for gaming, just load times for everything were through the roof, even versus intel e5200.

Using a q6600 myself and love it :p

The Celly e1500 is $10 less, so you should be able to get below $300.

Dual core

I have a dual core and yet to find a game I can't run on highest setting at
my maximum resolution. I'm betting BFBC2 will be no different.
The demo hasn't been. Once all the DX11 games start popping up
I'm sure it'll start lagging behind.

That would be due to the 4870, not the processor I imagine : ]

Try Supreme Commander with everything cranked up and see how well you'll fare then. ;)

I remember trying SupCom on a single core Celeron 440 rig (clocked to 3 GHz) and in some instances I was my own Fraps, I could count the frames individually. :D

supcom should never ever be played on a single core.

Ever.

785G + athlon II would cost pennies more, and shit all over that systems performance.

wouldn't technically the cheapest dual-core build be the Intel Atom 330/ION Chipset/Motherboard combo with a case, HDD, optical drive and PSU thrown in?

+1 for ChiSox that build is ideal I have that exact motherboard and cpu. I put a Intel X25 SSD 40gig with it and it boots in less than 20 sec with Win7 Pro. Built it for my wife to surf the net and check e-mail and she loves it.

better builds imo but what about $70 more for a quad and better everything else?

$37X and has $35 worth of rebates so only $35 more for a quad and better PSU/graphics/cpu/ram/case

$37X and has $35 worth of rebates so only $35 more for a quad and better PSU/graphics/cpu/ram/case

Acctualy i really like your build, because i might get my dad to upgrade and that be a processor he would move on to.

Right now he is using a Amd Athlon 4200+ 2.2Ghz dual core
3 gigs of ddr2
Zotac 9500gt
rose-well 400watt psu(actually pretty impressing)
2tb of storage in hardrives
and some fans. but i hate his system, and that processor loads at 70-100% instantly doing anything, when im so used to barley seeing 20% usage with 40 google chromes open, my xfire messaging open, and a game minimized in the backround -_-.

it would be a nice boost in performance and i know for a fact i could get mine under $300 but you would loose something nice in it. oh and i love that OCZ powersupply mine has way more on it than it really should phenom II quad, 3870X2, 2 HDD, opti drive, couple add on cards and a bunch of fans.
