That screen must be expensive, eh? Once you get past 28" up to 30", the prices skyrocket to the thousands.

Cost me about $1200 when I bought it. It's worth every penny.
Gaming is nice on it, but I do a lot of coding and having the space to open multiple windows and see everything without having to bring windows front and back is fantastic.

Okay ... gaming is not just nice. It rocks. lol

I bet. I'm thinking about a 28" 1900x1200 for $300. About the same size with less resolution, but 25% the price :D

I've been gaming in 1280x1024 my old 17" LCD monitors max for a while now. However i resently was given a 19" crt. Yeah i know what ya thinking CRT:laugh: But its bigger than my LCD & will run much higher res 1600x1200@85htz. Thing is it has a slight off focus section bout 4inch diamitor in the centre of the screen when running at 1600x1200. This is'nt happing at lower res.

So i have a choice, game at 1600x1200 & ignore the slight blurryness or run in the next below 4:3 aspect which is 1280x1024. Just out of interest i wonderd what other gamers would do in my position?

Oh & buying a new monitor isnt really an option at moo ! To skint :ohwell:

Edit: Problem sorted ! turns out i just needed to tweak the focus control inside the monitor. N1 tigger :rockout:

I game at 1920x1080 40", Although the other TV i had was 1360x1024 and just applied more AA tot he game to get rid of the jaggy's.

Problem was i play a lot of GTA 4 and AA is not possible with that game so it looked real bad although other games were just fine for me.

Cost me about $1200 when I bought it. It's worth every penny.

Could not agree more. Although mine was $700 and it's been a total steal compared to the prices of every other manufacture prices.

Crt's forever at 1280x1024 always :) I have no plans and do not want to go any higher than 1280x1024, so i will use CRT monitors forever. They sell them at pawn shops and thrift stores all the time, so i have all the luck :)

1920x1080 24" Asus LCD for me and 1680x1050 Acer 22" LCD for her, both are great, games look amazing, extremely content. Though before I gamed at 1280x1024 CRT (17-21" of varying models) and my first 19" Acer LCD @ 1440x900 which gives similar performance to 1280x1024 btw. I can't go back to 4:3 after 16:10 and 16:9.

1920 x 1200 on everything now with my 25.5" monitor. However I need a new video card and can't decide which one to get.
I game 1680 x 1050 for Crysis though.

some games at 1024x768 and some games at 1280x1024... the problem is my VGA, a 8600GT ddr2, in some games the difference in the framerate is very noticiable from 1280x1024 to 1024x768... so...

1280x1024 is not a low resoultion vertically is almost the same as 1080p, so the problem is not "definition", it's just not very "wide" (running in a 5:3 screen)... 1280x1024 is a 5:4 resolution, not as good as 16:9/16:10 in games.... but it's "ok", 4:3 would be a bit better....

I play everything at 1680 x 1050. Its a 20.1" monitor. I am really tempted to upgrade to a 24" monitor and 1920 x 1080, maybe at the end of the summer.

1920x1080 and every game looks great, you dont even need AA or AF to make a game look great at that res. :)

Edit: I forgot to add;

Pretty much a troll post there..nothing wrong with nVidia or ATI. :nutkick:

So....you're saying I live under a north bridge???

It depends of the monitor you game on. I have 24" when the PC let me I game on 1920x1200 if the game is too demanding I switch to 1680x1050 below that resolution on 24" you get just blur image.

I feel everyone should use thier native resolution, or at least as close as they can get it. In BF2 the best I can choose is 1280x1024, but I would rather use 1440x900 (too bad it's not an option). Playing at 1600x1200 on a 21" crt looks the same as playing on 1024x768 on a 15" crt, except only bigger.

That's why I don't really want any of those large monitors.. 1280*1024 lets me have a cheap computer. :)

BTW, how does older games look on that thing? Like 320*2xx, 640*480 and so on?
