Best was Windows 7
Worst was Windows ME

The best was Windows 10.
The worst was Windows 8.
Currently working with Windows 11 but just started.

Win 10 best.

Win me worst

My first own laptop came with windows XP, simple and quick imo, was happy with it at that time back in 2003.

I know many people hate Vista, I actually liked it, was running Vista 64 Bit Ultimate (E7200 + 4GB DDR2) with Windows Dreamscene loved it,
I also really liked the transparency settings/slider which Windows 10/11 lacks....

Windows 10/11 not that bad but lacks things from Vista imo, with the much more powerful hardware you have these days transperancy settings and Dreamscene shouldn't be an issue...

Worst OS was 8/8.1.

Worst OS windows updating, windows 98/7....

They all suk in 1 way or the other :)

But the real question is which one(s) sukd less....

IMHO:

A) W10 - best to date
B) Mostly Extriment & Vistra - worst p.o.s. disconbobulated clusterf*k's MS ever pulled out of their collective arses

Best: Win 2000, Win XP, Win 7
Warming up to: Win 10
Worst: Win95, WinME, Vista, Win 8
Avoiding: Win 11

7 wasn't that bad, but I always had a lot of issues with windows updates on 7.... :banghead:

The "Never ending searching for updates" and alike....
I made a thread about it years ago here on TPU....

Best: W7 and W8.1

Pretty good: W98, W2000, XP, W2003, Vista SP2, W8, W10

Worst: Vista RTM, a HUGE difference from SP2. The only thing SP2 lacked was a decent task bar and not the stupid XP crap: one button for starting a program in quick launch, and ANOTHER BUTTON for switching to/from the same program. :banghead::banghead:

Also, I refuse to call Windows "Win", as it suggests having something to do with winning.

It doesn't.

Best: What I've used.

Best: Win 2000, Win XP, Win 7
Warming up to: Win 10
Worst: Win95, WinME, Vista, Win 8
Avoiding: Win 11
Couldn't have said it any better. This exactly.

Best 7
Worst ME.

I skipped a few windows OS like Vista and 8 over the years but to be honest the ones I have used, I've had no major issues with.

Post deleted , a bit OT..

Best: W7
Runner-up: XP

Worst: Vista pre-SP1; it was fine after that.
Runner-up: W98

Best? Win 10.. ugh.

Worst? Win 98 OEM.

Like the majority in this thread so-far, I do everything online including posting in this thread with win 7 "DDR2 motherboard".

2000, 7, 8.1, and 10 are good. 98 SE, XP, Vista are alright. ME is meh. 8.0 and 11 are not good.

Best: Windows 7. Runner up: XP

Worst: Windows Update trying to forcefully install Windows 8.

Did not install on my main PC (used on occasion though): Windows NT, 2000, Vista (was a good OS after a few updates), and 11.

I love Windows ugh edition.

Also perhaps this should be made into a poll?

I tried at first to make it a poll but it didn't allow even as much choices for best OS much less worst OS.

Vista hands down I am 47 I has had "all the Windows" Actually not entirely true I skipped over ME and the 8's

I will stay on 10 as long as I possibly can until there is an actual feature in 11 that makes me have to give in(DX12 for 10 for me)

Best : Windows 10
Worst : Windows Rt and Windows 8.1 Rt

Does mobile version count? I had a surface tablet and oh boy the os on that had locked alot of things

Best? Windows CE :D

Years later...W Vista Business 64bit with at least 8GB of RAM and the OS on an Intel SSD - rather Amazing actually because I have
FULL control over it.
Windows 7 good.
Windows XP 32bit for old games - the Best. (not on the Net)
Windows 10 Pro keeps trying to force me to use MS Cloud Antivirus - I keep saying NO!
Cloud is just someone else's PC.
