Why is the PSU fan facing up?
Just personal preference. My case does have a bottom PSU filter so I could flip it over. But I don't see any reason to. I have had this case since 2010 and upgraded the MB, CPU, GPU and RAM twice since that original build but this is only the second PSU. With the fans on the side and front panels blowing in, the PSU is getting fed pretty cool air oriented as it is.
And I just saw an article that still rates my old Rosewill Challenger as one of the best cases for air flow.

It's just the best for PSU that it gets fresh air outside of the case through the bottom vents, instead of the warm air inside of the case.

True cooler air is always better. But for me the difference in temperature inside at the bottom of my case is only around 1c warmer than it is under the case. (note the yellow temperature sensor laying next to my PSU in the picture).

Right now, the best mid-range card for me would be the 1660 Ti. Since I'm already using a RX 580, anything lower would be more of a side-grade than anything else.

The poll should just have "RX 480 and all rebrands" and "RX 470 and all rebrands".

RX 590 is still attractive due to the game bundles it comes with for the price....gave it some serious thought earlier this month but I ended up scoring a cheap gtx 780 so I stopped looking at new cards for now.

Heh, kickin' with 780 here also. Too bad there's compatibility problems with Ryzen 2000 series. Getting probably a cheap R9 290 from interwebz buddy next week.

May as well put the AMD Vega 56 in the list as that can be purchased for $300ish on Newegg with a 3 game bundle.
Also the RX580 is $90 cheaper. If you're going to game in 1080p there's no need for anything more.
If someone else is paying the power bill. :kookoo:
But hey, it's only the initial purchase price and crappy free games that matter

Yeah, because of way less power and TDP while performing close to the Vega 56, I prefer the 1660 Ti. And in my country the 1660 Ti can be bought right now for 30 to 50% less money than the Vega 56. Best bang for your buck.

Just bought a mid-range MSI GTX-1660Ti Gaming-X card for $225.00 from a friend. He got it and then wanted more power than that.

I think that it will be perfect for my wife's PC.

I choose RX 580, about rtx being the first in poll, i just want to share my brother experience, he bought zotac RTX 2060 and, i couldn't say its a smooth experience from it, well i don't know if any of you rtx owner have this issue, but when we play ghost recon wildlands and division 2 my brother have issues like game crashes every 30 minute in division 2, and wildlands whenever he open loadout the game crashed.. i think we need a couple month until RTX really a solid choice, since it have some annoying issue since launch..

I voted for the 1660 Ti as its $100 less then the 2060 and $110 more then the 1660 and can be OC close to 2060 Performance anyway. 1660 TI can at least game at 1440P and 1080P where as the 1660 struggles at 1440P and the 2060 I think is pointless as you get the worst of all the cards for RT support.

Have you tried anything to diagnose those crashes?

This.
Don't accept that those crashes are due to his 2060 card. He probably installed the 2060 into a system that had existing issues. (or it doesn't have enough clean PSU power for his new configuration)

I see there is one very important card missing in the pool: Rx Vega 56. For the comparable price to gtx 1660 Ti you can get much better card + 3 Rly good games (which you can enjoy or sell).

Even though I don't care about power consumption, many others do. Vega is power hungry, though undervolting helps that a lot.

What do you mean "comparable price"? The Vega 56 is already significantly more expensive then 1660Ti.

Bonkers how many votes the shitty RX 590 is getting, the cult is strong with that one.

In some countries, the RX 590 could be an ok deal, if we disregard the power consumption!

In Germany for example, some models are already at 220€, the problem is that in other EU countries comes to cost close to 300€.

That is why generalizing prices is always risky, a card can be a good deal in one country, but in another not.

I'd consider it as a mid-end in the lineup, just like 1660 and 1660 Ti. 2070 & 2080 are high-end and 2080 Ti & Titan are enthusiast-class.
