So just to confirm with all the experienced people here.

Digital key is tied to motherboard?

Daughters PC is W11 Home, and I want to upgrade CPU and GPU.......but don't want to trigger all that license BS.

Hi,
Yep
But you can use TPU godeal24 to get another license for pennies on the dollar even pro is dirt cheap
I use them only issue I've seen lately is a multiple pc key 5 pc key failed recently it was only 25.us though so I just used a win-10 pro key instead I got with another office 2021 pro plus
I haven't installed the office one yet I need to clean install my new laptop first

Godeal24 does have go fast support
I had an issue activating office 2016 pro plus on a saturday and they responded in 10 minutes to help and very much did get it to activate
As far as os versions they've never gone bad except the one I mentioned and I'm sure they will give another when I report the issue
Only requirement is to show a screen shot of activate not and can't use this key message.

Yes, the activation is tied to a unique hardware ID that’s on the mobo. The motherboard is considered a “PC” by their system. Swapping either CPU or GPU has no effect on it. Neither do BIOS updates, obviously. You will be fine. Worst case scenario you’ll get a pop up on entering Windows asking if you’d like to reactivate, you press OK and in a couple of seconds it will go through. But even that is unlikely.

Thanks went smoothly no issues.

Reason I asked is when I flipped out 32gb ram set to a 64GB ram set on my windows 10 rig I had to do the phone thing and it was a pita...............

Hi,
Finally clean installing on my new lappy
Wow tried to get the system reserved in front of C never did succeed without fat32 partition ending up on the end like the recovery partition does now lol

So I left 3gb in front of C and fat32/ msr 16mb is in front of C "better than having free minitool move the os" and I just deleted the 750+- recovery partition as I've always done f-it.

Maybe I can get some cmd guru to take the now 3gb unallocated and get a functioning system reserved so ms will use it instead of creating another at the end of the disk again...

Installing on a 1-2tb m.2 well it just seems stupid at the end and makes it really tough to restore a system image to a 250-500gb m.2 or sata if I want to.

Hi,
Finally got the fat32 resized to 260mb and made my system reserved partition in front of C
Thanks to SIW2 on 11forum for suggesting disk genius this is a functional app !
Interface is a bit raw but effective they have a portable and winpe recovery option
I'll see if MS uses it soon enough if not I'll change it to system recovery instead and see if that's reused.

Bad news! The infamous Windows bug, since sometime in 2022, IIRC:

The issue is the following:

Bluetooth system files issue, where they are randomly reverted to wrong version, apparently! Microsoft apparently still doesn't have a fix for this.

Ah yes, that bug. It really is wild that it isn’t fixed to this day. You’d think it would be fairly easy. It’s obviously not that big of a deal by itself, since the Bluetooth files in question do not appear to actually affect functionality, but it does trip up SFC which in turn trips ME up until I remember about the bug.
Then again, it’s been since March that MS had introduced a visual bug with the Security Center in which it randomly fails to recognize your TPM and relaunching the app fixes the issue, all the while tpm.msc reporting everything correctly. And this also survived into 23H2. Absolute clownshow.

On 11, I didn't have the Bluetooth file issue with 21H2 in spring, 2022, but it suddenly happened on the August, 2022 patch-Tuesday, IIRC. In 22H2, the issue is baked into the ISO!

I am running 11 on both of my machines, pretty happy with it so far! We have a new Inspiron laptop in the house with a 5700u under the hood, it came with 11 installed and all 3 are running very nicely. No weirdness, no hiccups, Nada.. smooth sailing.

The memory timings on that Dell are horrendous but it still feels pretty good.
what inspiron you got? I got the 15 3525 and the ram is as 3200MT/s and it's a ryzen 5700u!

It is an Inspiron 5515 :)

Latency is the pits in Aida, but it still feels pretty snappy. 1800-4350MHz.. not too shabby.

Yeah this system feels snappier in linux than windows tho... it's like this laptop was made for linux more than windows lol

For customization, what's generally good, simple and won’t cause issues??

-open shell??
-winaero or winaero tweaker??

edit - my kids want to change their desktop etc. (for context)

Hi,

For win11 keys, just wondering if anyone has used this on TPU and if so do you use your personal credit card and info, or a pre-paid credit card, etc.?

They take Paypal, you don't have to use a credit card. I've bought a bunch. They've never failed to work or activate.

Hi,
All the more reason to use godeal24

Dude on elevenforum changed a psu and triggered it lol

Microsoft will release Windows 11 version 24H1 in April 2024, according to a promotional video from Dell.
According to the manufacturer, OEMs will start supplying PCs with the relevant version of Windows installed as standard in August this year.

Wait… what? I thought it was decided that feature updates that get major versions are now only once per year and they are strictly H2. When has that decision been revised back to bi-annual?
