Especially when the Corvette is modified (X850 Pro 'pipes unlocked and overclocked :p)

I have OC'd it  has a nice cooler on it though but it has a problem that if you put the fan speed up to 100% the temp rises to 30 to 60 :banghead: and its not a sensor because you can feel the heat

I have an X850Pro Flashed to XT PE specs and volt modded and it plays any DX9 game very nicely. I am running a Zalman cooler and the highest temp I have seen while gaming is 66c.

I would go X850 all the way!

I still have my Athlon64 3700+ PC with an X850 Pro flashed to an X850 XT (with this forums help!). Have an Arctic Cooling cooler on it and it's wonderful for games from about Oblivion on back. I'm kind of funny, I use my newest PC for new games only. All the earlier games I still ue my old PC. It's like I want to totally get my money's worth out of it!

You can't play every game on dx9 :( because games like rainbow six vegas require shader model 3.0 and probably most games on unreal engine 3 which sucks mega balls

Good idea will do a bench off with money on it.

Or in my case an X2 6400 B.E. with an 8800 GTX. I do have a machine for those new, demanding games, I just choose to keep using a very serviceable PC (with the flashed X850 Pro) for early/mid decade games that it runs well.
