The Fire GL2 was an enthusiast-class professional graphics card by ATI, launched on June 1st, 2000. Built on the 180 nm process, and based on the RC1000 graphics processor, the card supports DirectX 6.0. Since Fire GL2 does not support DirectX 11 or DirectX 12, it might not be able to run all the latest games. The RC1000 graphics processor is an average sized chip with a die area of 156 mm². It features 2 pixel shaders and 1 vertex shader 4 texture mapping units, and 1 ROP. Due to the lack of unified shaders you will not be able to run recent games at all (which require unified shader/DX10+ support). ATI has paired 64 MB DDR memory with the Fire GL2, which are connected using a 256-bit memory interface. The GPU is operating at a frequency of 120 MHz, memory is running at 120 MHz. Being a single-slot card, the ATI Fire GL2 does not require any additional power connector, its power draw is not exactly known. Display outputs include: 1x DVI, 1x VGA, 1x S-Video. Fire GL2 is connected to the rest of the system using an AGP 4x interface. Its price at launch was 1199 US Dollars.
