The Tegra 3 GPU was a mobile graphics chip by NVIDIA, launched on November 9th, 2011. Built on the 40 nm process, and based on the Kal-El graphics processor, in its T30-P-A3 variant, the chip does not support DirectX. Since Tegra 3 GPU does not support DirectX 11 or DirectX 12, it might not be able to run all the latest games. The Kal-El graphics processor is a relatively small chip with a die area of only 80 mm² and 10 million transistors. It features 8 pixel shaders and 4 vertex shaders, 8 texture mapping units, and 8 ROPs. Due to the lack of unified shaders you will not be able to run recent games at all (which require unified shader/DX10+ support). NVIDIA has paired 256 MB DDR3 memory with the Tegra 3 GPU, which are connected using a 32-bit memory interface. The GPU is operating at a frequency of 416 MHz, which can be boosted up to 520 MHz, memory is running at 667 MHz.
Its power draw is rated at 20 W maximum. This device has no display connectivity, as it is not designed to have monitors connected to it. Rather it is intended for use in laptop/notebooks and will use the output of the host mobile device.
