The company touts the product as the world's 1st Dolby Vision & Atmos UST projector, which also features ALLM and MEMC for smoother gaming. The sound system is a bespoke work by Bowers & Wilkins. A few booth demos were available to paint the picture of the technology.

In addition, Formovie introduced the slim and portable Formovie S5 projector. Weighing only 6.5 pounds, it's an ultra-compact model ideal for on-the-go use. The S5 still outputs a bright 1100 ANSI lumens image with smooth 4K quality enabled by ALPD laser technology. Rounding out the product showcase, Formovie displayed the award-winning Formovie V10 home theater projector. Recently honored with a CES 2023 Innovation Award, the V10 stands out for its 240 Hz refresh rate, 12 ms low latency, and 2500 ANSI lumens brightness—making it a top choice for gaming and movies.

Gigabyte Launches the 54.6-inch S55U Gaming Monitor with Android Support

GIGABYTE, the world's leading gaming hardware brand, announced the launch of the GIGABYTE S55U gaming monitor, the newest addition to GIGABYTE'S 4K monitor family. The S55U opens up a new segment of gaming monitors with its massive 54.6-inch UHD quantum dot display. Besides delivering incredible picture sharpness and clarity, the S55U steps up the game with the esports-grade 120 Hz refresh rate, 2 ms GTG response time, and HDMI 2.1 connectivity that promises an immersive, silky-smooth gaming 4K experience on a big screen. The S55U is also android-powered with built-in apps such as YouTube, Netflix, and Chromecast for streaming, making it ideal for home entertainment as well.

GIGABYTE has been at the forefront of delivering best-in-class 4K gaming monitors since it introduced its first-ever 4K display last year. The entire family boast the industry-leading HDMI 2.1 support and exclusive tactical gaming features, which set a new standard for 4K gaming displays. GIGABYTE 4K gaming monitors have also been well received by media and communities worldwide. The FV43U was named the king of 43-inch gaming monitors by the world-renowned media Tom's Hardware for its class-leading color and contrast. The 47.53-inch FO48U featuring an OLED panel won the iF Design Award honor in 2022 for its unmatched aesthetics and display performance. Last but not least, the GIGABYTE M series was highly praised by the monitor-focused tech media Rtings as the best 4K gaming monitors they have reviewed. GIGABYTE now delivers a wide variety of 4K gaming monitors ranging from 28 to 54.6 inches for gamers to choose from. The newest S55U offers a brand new dimension for those looking for a completely immersive viewing experience on a large gaming monitor for both gaming and home entertainment.

Gigabyte Launches 55-inch Android Powered Gaming Monitor

Gigabyte's latest gaming product seems to be aimed towards console gamers rather than PC gamers, as the S55U gaming monitor is quite an odd duck when it comes to the spec. For starters, it sports a 54.6-inch Quantum Dot VA panel with a 4K resolution, which is said to offer a typical brightness of 500 cd/m² and a peak brightness of 1500 cd/m², as well as a contrast ratio of 5000:1. This is thanks to array based LED backlight, although Gigabyte only has only gone for 132 zones, which is the lowest zone count we've seen to date. It has a refresh rate of 120 Hz and it has a response time of 5 ms on average, although Gigabyte also quotes a minimum response time of 2 ms. The panel is said to deliver 140 percent of the sRGB colour space and 96 percent of DCI-P3. It also supports FreeSync Premium, VRR and ALLM, which means gaming should be pretty much tear free. Dolby Vision, HDR10, HDR10+ and the HLG HDR standards are also part of the package.

However, as the S55U is a not-TV it has two HDMI 2.1 ports (one with eARC), both of which are capable of 48 Gbps signals, as well as two HDMI 2.0 ports, but it lacks a DisplayPort, making it just as PC friendly as your average TV. Other connectivity consists of a USB 3.2 Gen 1 (5 Gbps) port, a single USB 2.0 port, a headphone jack, a Toslink connector and an unspecified Ethernet jack. There's also built-in support for WiFi and Bluetooth, as well as a pair of 10 W speakers. Despite not being a TV, the S55U runs an unspecified version of what appears to be Android TV and it's said to have support for Chromecast, the Google Assistant and maybe more importantly, Google Play.

MediaTek and Dolby collaborated on the implementation of these technologies, which will be available starting in 2H 2022 for TV OEMs to begin adopting.

Joining Dolby's suite of Advanced Imaging technologies available through Dolby Vision IQ, Precision Detail unlocks more from Dolby Vision content by revealing incredible detail in both bright and dark areas. With added texture and depth, images take on a new dimension with astonishing crispness on 8K and 4K smart TVs. In addition to Precision Detail, MediaTek's Intelligent View technology paired with Dolby's latest advancements in imaging technology can process multiple Dolby Vision streams simultaneously. Consumers can now watch different media sources at the same time in Dolby Vision in multiple windows, all in stunning detail.

Xiaomi Launching 65-inch 120 Hz OLED TV Under "Master Series"

Xiaomi is looking to grab a piece of the premium TV market with the new Master Series. Xiaomi's new flagship TV, to be announced for the Chinese market on July 2nd, will be offering up a 65-inch OLED panel with a snappy 120 Hz refresh rate, which means it will be able to take full advantage of next-generation consoles' "up to" 120 Hz FPS delivery. Besides the OLED chops, there's Dolby Certification for both Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos.

Other specs include HDMI 2.1, VRR support, and ALLM (Automatic Low Latency Mode). A quad-core Arm Cortex-A73 custom chip will be powering the TV's graphical and OS processing. Apparently there will be some sort of RGB lighting on the TV's frame, and a metallic remote control with NFC support aims to increase the premium feeling. Xiaomi's CEO Lei Jun described it as "Xiaomi's ultra-high-end OLED TV" and "very amazing." Well. We'll have to see now won't we. If it's actual competition to today's premium mainstream LG C9 and Samsung Q90R TVs, it's bound to sell like hotcakes.
