NVIDIA Releases the Performance-Boosting GeForce 310.33 Beta Driver

Countering AMD's ' Never Settle' driver (the Catalyst 12.11), NVIDIA has today rolled out a new graphics driver that delivers performance improvements of up to 15% for GeForce GTX 600 Series cards. The driver in question is called GeForce 310.33, it comes in beta form, and it features support for GeForce 8, 9, 100, 200, 300, 400, 500 and 600 Family cards.

MSI GeForce GTX 660 HAWK Generally Available

MSI's GeForce GTX 660 HAWK performance graphics card is now generally available, priced at US $249.99. The card packs MSI's highest factory-overclock for the GPU, and uses what is essentially the same PCB and cooler designs as the MSI GeForce GTX 660 Power Edition. The card ships with clock speeds of 1085 MHz core, 1150 MHz GPU Boost, and 6.00 GHz memory. The PCB features a 10-phase VRM with voltage measurement points, and dual-BIOS. MSI GeForce GTX 660 HAWK Graphics Card Launched

MSI launched the GeForce GTX 660 HAWK, which was first pictured in mid-September. The card makes use of a custom-design PCB with 10-phase VRM, and features factory-overclocked speeds of 1085 MHz core, 1150 MHz GPU Boost, and 6.00 GHz memory (GDDR5-effective). It packs 2 GB of memory across a 192-bit wide memory interface. Another major component is its Twin Frozr IV cooler, which uses a dense aluminum fin stack to which head directly draw from the GPU is fed by a number of nickel-plated copper heat pipes. Leadtek Unveils the WinFast GTX 660 Graphics Card

After releasing GeForce GTX 660 Ti, Leadtek Research Inc, a world-leading maker of professional gaming graphics cards, announces its high-level GeForce GTX 660 graphics card today. With all the features of the NVIDIA Kepler, the GTX 660 delivers smooth graphics performance at 1080p. The dual fan SKU will be available later.

The GTX 660 features a GPU Boost function for users to make dynamic clock adjustment for optimal performance/watt. With 960 CUDA cores, the GTX 660 delivers a base clock and boost clock speed up to 980 MHz and 1033 MHz to automatically adjust the clock according to the needs of gamers.

ELSA Announces GeForce GTX 660 and GTX 650 SAC Series Graphics Cards

ELSA announced a pair of new SAC (silent air-cooling) series graphics cards based on the GeForce GTX 660 and GTX 650. Likely originally made by Inno3D, ELSA's graphics cards feature an easily removable cooler shroud that lets you clean the fan assembly and the heatsink. The GTX 660 SAC uses a dual- 75 mm fan cooler that can keep the card running at 25 dBA, and up to 8°C lower than NVIDIA-reference cooler. It is clocked at 980 MHz core, 1033 MHz GPU Boost, and 6.00 GHz memory. It packs 2 GB of GDDR5 memory across a 192-bit wide memory interface.

ELSA's GeForce GTX 650 SAC, on the other hand, features a more compact PCB, with a single 85 mm fan that keeps the card running with a noise output of 24 dBA, and below 60°C. Its core is clocked at 1085 MHz, and memory at 5.00 GHz. It packs 1 GB of GDDR5 memory across a 128-bit wide memory interface. Both cards include ELSA's GPU Optimizer software that lets you tweak clock and fan speeds. Slated for market release on October 25, the ELSA GTX 660 SAC is expected to be priced at 25,800 JPY (US $328); the ELSA GTX 650 SAC, on the other hand, is slated for October 18, and is priced at 12,800 JPY (US $163).

TechPowerUp GPU-Z v0.6.5 Released

TechPowerUp released the latest version of GPU-Z, the popular graphics subsystem information and diagnostic utility. Version 0.6.5 features the biggest complement of changes this year. To begin with GPU-Z can now reliably extract, save, and upload BIOS from NVIDIA GeForce Kepler family of GPUs. Boost clock detection for GeForce Kepler family is improved; and real-time memory clock monitoring for GeForce Kepler GPUs without Boost is fixed. A working ASIC-quality calculation method is implemented for GeForce Kepler GPUs.

GPU clock and temperature readings are improved for AMD "Trinity" APUs, and stability increased. Support is added for a large number of new GPUs, including AMD Radeon HD 7450A, HD 7730M, HD 7700M, FirePro M4000, W5000; NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650 Ti, GT 635M, GT 620M, GeForce 610M, GT 620 (GF119), GT 640 (GF118), Quadro 7000, Quadro K2000M; and Intel 4th Generation Core "Haswell" graphics. Release date and die-size measurements were added for a large number of GPUs. A large number of outstanding bugs were quashed.

MSI GeForce GTX 660 HAWK Graphics Card Detailed

MSI's flagship factory-overclocked graphics card based on the GeForce GTX 660, the N660GTX HAWK, was pictured and detailed by Expreview, earlier this week. According to the source, the card will be designed for about 15% higher core clock speeds than reference, backed by high-grade voltage regulation circuitry and the company's TwinFrozr IV cooling solution.

To begin with, the GeForce GTX 660 HAWK will ship with clock speeds of 1100 MHz core, 1176 MHz GPU Boost core clock speeds. The memory is left untouched at 6.00 GHz (GDDR5-effective). Under the hood is a 10-phase VRM that uses SSC chokes (low energy loss to noise), and IR DirectFETs. The card appears to use a high-end voltage controller that allows software voltage control, and consolidated voltage measurement points. The card draws power from two 6-pin PCIe power connectors.

NVIDIA Rolls Out GeForce 306.23 WHQL Drivers

Following launches of its GeForce GTX 660 and GTX 650 graphics processors earlier this day, NVIDIA released the latest stable version of its GeForce driver suite. GeForce 306.23 WHQL was released for Windows 7/Vista and Windows XP. This is NVIDIA's first WHQL-signed driver launch after GeForce GTX 660 Ti was launched last month. Hence, it includes official support for GeForce GTX 660 Ti, GeForce GTX 660, and GeForce GTX 650. The company also notified that the next WHQL-signed drivers will remove support for legacy GeForce GPUs such as 6-series and 7-series.

GeForce 306.23 WHQL also adds GPU and game-specific performance improvements. Along with the latest patch by its developer, Total War: Shogun 2 will see up to 60% performance improvement with GeForce GTX 680. Performance is also significantly improved for games such as Batman: Arkham City, Dragon Age II, STALKER: Call of Pripyat, and Battlefield 3 (in SLI). SLI profiles were added or improved for a large number of games. The drivers provide early support for applications built with CUDA 5 Preview.

Club 3D Launches its own GeForce GTX 660 and GTX 650 Graphics Cards

Dutch AIB maker Club 3D has joined today's release-palooza by announcing the Kepler-powered GeForce GTX 660 and the GeForce GTX 650. The company's GTX 660, which looks pretty much like a reference card, has a 960 CUDA Cores, GPU Base/Boost clocks of 980/1033 MHz, a 192-bit memory interface backed by 2 GB of GDDR5 VRAM @ 6008 MHz, and dual DVI, DisplayPort (1.2) and HDMI (1.4a) outputs.

The GeForce GTX 650 comes equipped with a custom cooler (larger than the stock one) and features 384 CUDA Cores, a GPU clock of 1098 MHz, a 128-bit interface, 1 GB of GDDR5 memory set to 5000 MHz, and two DVI outputs plus a mini HDMI port.
