A day ago Viewsonic quietly added the VG2427 24-inch model to its range of LCD monitors. The VG2427 boasts native resolution of 1920x1080 pixels with 16:9 aspect ratio. The panel has a 20,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio as well as 300cd/m2 brightness. LG announced a new fleet of full-HD capable LCD monitors today. The lineup consists of three models of different screen-sizes under the Wxx53V-PF naming scheme: the 22 inch W2253V-PF, 24 inch W2453V-PF and 27 inch W2753V-PF. LG seems to have emphasized on both form and function with these ones. Sporting a piano-black shell with a dash of clear acrylic, the monitors pack LCD panels with 2 ms response time. All models have native resolutions of 1920 x 1080 pixels (1080p HD), and are HDCP-capable.

Additionally, they feature intelligent Auto Bright, Live Sensor, and Cinema mode proprietary features. The monitor detects the intensity of light in the environment it's working in, and accordingly adjusts brightness and contrast levels. All models support offer DVI-D, D-SUB, and HDMI port as input connectivity options. LG is yet to release or price these monitors outside the Japanese market as of now.

Normal for Dell, the company has launched a new 24-inch LCD monitor, without informing the public. The new monitor just appeared on the company's website and that's all. "Designed with the environment in mind", the Dell G2410 monitor is one of the firm's greenest LCDs. It comes with Dell EPEAT Gold rating, that reduce environmental impact by using halogen-free laminates in circuit boards and chassis plastics that contains 25% post-consumers recycled plastics. Max supported resolution is 1920x1080 pixels, response time is 5 ms, contrast ratio is 1000:1, brightness level is 250 cd/m² and the horizontal/vertical viewing angles are 160° and 170° respectively. Connectivity options of G2410 include single VGA and DVI-D connectors. Dell is now offering the monitor for $349 on its online store.

About a week into introducing the high-definition LCD-MF242X family of 23.6 inch monitors, I-O Data adds another one to its ranks, the 21.3 inch LCD-MF221XGBR. The new monitor seems to be more of a scaled-down version of the LCD-MF242X. Dimensions aside, it has an identical feature-set.

The monitor comes with a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels (1080p-ready), and an LCD response-time of 5 ms. It comes with a maximum brightness of 300 cd/m², static contrast-ratio of 1,000:1 and dynamic ratio of 10,000:1. Coming with a generous set of connectivity options, the monitor takes input from DVI, D-Sub and HDMI 1.2a connectors. It tips the scales at 4.5 kg (around 9.92 lbs). Backed by a three-year company warranty, the LCD-MF221XGBR sells for around US $227.

Storage and peripherals specialist I-O Data announced expansion of its display products lineup with two new full-HD LCD monitors. Dressed in black and white are the two variants of the LCD-MF242X family. The monitors house a 23.6 inch LCD panel with a native-resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, with a response time of 5 ms.

As for its illumination, the panel has a contrast ratio of 1000:1, with dynamic contrast ratio of 10000:1. Its maximum brightness is rated at 300 cd/m². In its limited size, it still includes two 1.5W speakers. Input connectors include DVI, HDMI 1.2a, and D-Sub (analog). I-O Data is expected to ask around US $355 for these monitors.

Acer, the third largest vendor in the PC market today announced two new models in its Business Series (B Series) monitor line for professionals. The new Acer B Series monitors - B233HU bmidhz and B273HU bmidhz - feature a stylish ergonomic design and state-of-the-art features, making them perfect for the office.

Samsung Electronics America Inc., a subsidiary of Samsung Electronics Corporation, the number one monitor brand in the world, announced today the addition of a super-thin LED monitor to its "Touch of Color" (ToC) family - the P2370L. This new high-end, model has a Light Emitting Diode Back Light Unit (LED BLU), instead of the cold cathode fluorescent lamps (CCFL) found in standard LCD displays, and reproduces more vibrant color and higher contrast ratios than other monitors. With its sophistication-meets-high technology form factor, the P2370L display will ship in late first quarter with an MSRP of $399.

Samsung Electronics America, a subsidiary of Samsung Electronics Corporation, today introduced an innovative PC-over-IP (PCoIP) display solution in conjunction with Teradici Corporation. Teradici's PCoIP technology is incorporated into the Samsung SyncMaster 930ND 19-inch display, which delivers a true integrated desktop computing experience over standard IP networks. Such a solution allows users to operate a remote host PC and use the 930ND as a local desktop monitor. The integrated PCoIP display features a 1000:1 contrast ratio, 5ms response time and a resolution of 1280 by 1024 pixels. The monitor also has four USB connectors, 2-way HD audio and DVI-out for a second display, and supports both PCoIP and RDP modes. The 930ND is currently compatible with Microsoft Windows Vista and Windows XP operating systems.

Samsung Electronics America, a subsidiary of Samsung Electronics Corporation, made official today the launch of their first 22-inch 3D LCD monitor. The SyncMaster 2233RZ comes with special high-tech active shutter glasses that make over 350 games to appear in three dimensions for your eyes. The 3D glasses are also designed so that users can simultaneously wear prescription glasses comfortably. Planned for April launch, the $399 22-inch widescreen 3D LCD boasts 1680x1050 native resolution, 300 cd/m2 brightness, 20,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, 170/160 (CR>10) horizontal/vertical viewing angles, 3ms GTG response time and Samsung's 120Hz Dual Engine. The Samsung 2233RZ will be compatible with NVIDIA's new GeForce 3D Vision graphics cards.

DisplayLink Corp. and Acer have collaborated to introduce the 22-inch DisplayLink enabled Acer P224 monitor. What this means is that you can add Acer P224 as an external monitor to any USB-equipped desktop PC or laptop, using only a single USB 2.0 port without the need to install discrete graphics cards.

NEC Display Solutions of America, a leading stand-alone provider of commercial LCD displays and projectors, today announced the new 26-inch MultiSync LCD2690WUXi², a desktop display ideal for graphic arts, desktop publishing, photography and other color-critical environments. The LCD2690WUXi² can be seen at Macworld Conference and Expo 2009 (NEC Display Solutions Booth, No. 2510) on January 6-9 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, Calif.

LG Display has developed a new technology, which in outdoor environments, has the LCD to go into a mode which not only allows the screen to be seen more easily than conventional LCD displays, but also save power in the process. Currently one of the biggest drains on battery life for mobile devices is to power the backlight for the display, which is normally worstened in outdoor environments due to a need to increase the backlight brightness. The new 14.1 inch display from LG actually uses sunlight to illuminate the screen outdoors, the technology has been dubbed Backlight Data Signal Switching Technology and it will be available to see at the 2009 Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2009).

BFG Tech has told Tweaktown that it will be putting its first complete gaming PC on display at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) early next year. It will feature a touch screen LCD, which judging by the image we have, allows you to control various aspects of your PC which one would imagine includes overclocking and other BIOS related settings. What it most interesting, is that they seem to be using the same LCD to replace the standard power and restart buttons usually found on a chassis. It has also been said that there will be, "maintainance-free liquid cooling and unprecedented in-home setup and maintainance servicing." Details are still vague and as yet there is no information on the configurations, availability or pricing. The 19-inch UltraSharp 1909W widescreen monitor won't impress with enormous desktop space or high specs, it's more of a beautiful office monitor. Featuring 1440x900 native resolution, the 16:10 display also boasts a 5ms response time, 1,000:1 contrast ratio and 300 nits of brightness. DisplayLink and Acer today announced the availability of a new Windows Vista Aero-compatible USB computer monitor, with integrated DisplayLink technology. The 22-inch B223 screen, part of Acer's ergonomic B series family of monitors, is now shipping in Europe. With 1680x1050 widescreen resolution, Acer's new display has integrated USB ports to facilitate multiple displays easily. Using DisplayLink's DL-160 network display chip, up to six Acer B223 monitors can be connected to a single PC or laptop, via a standard USB 2.0 connection.

iZ3D LLC, designer, marketer and enabler of advanced 3D visualization systems, has been quietly but actively promoting the adoption of 3D display technology since 2007. Now the company's breakthrough approach, widely hailed by users as delivering a premier 3D experience, is being priced to make it affordable to casual and enthusiast gamers.
Effective December 1st, the manufacturer's suggested resale price for the company's 22-inch widescreen switchable 3D/2D monitor will be $399.00. Samsung has come up with a new 23.6-inch, slick and stylish widescreen LCD monitor, the SyncMaster 2494HS. This one takes a step forward in overall look and feel, going away from the rather plain Samsung glassy design. The SyncMaster 2494HS features a modern 1920x1080 16:9 wide resolution, appropriate for movie lovers, an exceptionally high 50,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, 300cd/m2 brightness and a 5ms response time. Vertical viewing angles for this screen reach 160-degrees and horizontal angles 170-degrees. There are also two 3W stereo speakers built-in. Inputs include HDCP-compatible HDMI, DVI-D, and single analog RGB. The Samsung SyncMaster will go on sale in mid-December in Japan for around 40,000 yen ($423).

Samsung today released five new SyncMaster LCD monitors that use the glossy-black design theme the company has been fascinated with, for some time now. Their screen-sizes range between 15.6 inch and 23 inch. The SyncMaster 633NW is a 15.6 inch display, while the 933SN is an 18.5 inch one, both with a native resolution of 1360 x 768 pixels.

The 2233SW and 2333SW come with a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, and are sized at 21.5 and 23 inch respectively. The 2133SW is a 20 inch panel with resolution of 1600 x 900 pixels. All the above monitors sport a response time of 5 ms, and inputs that include DVI-D, and D-Sub. The monitors are HDCP capable. Prices in Japan, range between US $187 and $312.

I doubt someone expected this to happen so quickly, but Samsung's recently covered 23-inch 2342BWX high-resolution LCD display won't be the only one on the market for long, because Dell is also getting ready to ship the brand new SP2309 soon. Just like the Samsung, Dell's upcoming LCD will boast the remarkable 2048x1152 QWXGA resolution on a 23-inch 16:9 viewable display size. The remaining specs include dynamic contrast ratio of 1000:1, 300 cd/m² brightness, 98% color gamut, 2ms response time, 2-megapixel camera with microphone and VGA/DVI and HDMI inputs. The Dell SP2309 should start selling later this month. It's price is estimated at around $419.99.

Samsung is today adding a new 23-inch 2342BWX widescreen LCD display, that boasts an ultra thin black bezel and a 2048x1152 QWXGA resolution. That's in fact the world's first 23-inch display with such unusual resolution. The 16:9 screen is dedicated for office work and is large enough to fit two A4 pages side by side as well as the vertical Vista Sidebar. Samsung claims that the 2342BWX eliminates the need of a second display in the office, with such a wide resolution it can fit almost everything. Other specs that enrich the monitor even more, include a 20,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, a 5ms gray-to-gray pixel response time and a very small pixel size (0.249mm). Samsung will launch the display first in Korea for the equivalent of $295 (₩399,000), then it will spread the model across the world. I almost forgot, don't count on receiving the display with the girl from the picture. ;)

Dell refreshed today its monitor line-up by introducing the two brand new S2209W and S2309W LCD displays. First leaked some time ago, the two monitors are finally going into the market so you can enjoy them. The sleek, glossy frame S2209W is a 22-inch LCD widescreen that boasts full HD 1920x1080 resolution, fast 5 ms response time, 1000:1 contrast ratio, 300 cd/m2 brightness, and 160° / 170° viewing angles typical for most TN panels. In terms of connectivity the S2209W features both analog and DVI-D (HDCP) inputs, but it lacks of HDMI. The S2309W has exactly the same specs as the 22-inch S2209W with the one difference that it boasts a bigger 23-inch matrix. Dell is now selling both displays for $239 and $299 respectively.
