A fair few partner-produced items—exhibited at last week's Computex 2025 trade event—were blessed with Jensen Huang's signature. Not long after concluding his keynote presentation, the ever intrepid NVIDIA boss spent time on the showroom floor. The TechPowerUp crew stumbled upon an autographed example at the Palit booth: Pandora NXNano mini AI PC. Due to mitigating circumstances, we did not capture any shots of a nearby special prototype flagship graphics card. The Taiwanese manufacturer proudly showcased a "GeForce RTX 5090 Tornado" dual-fan/dual-slot design; its all-metal housing aesthetic recalls an older vintage of Team Green's Founder Edition line.

Several media outlets have examined this compelling prospect; at least from a safe distance. Palit did not allow any hands-on experiences. A first party-developed "double flow-through cooling solution" serves as a main inspiration for the Tornado engineering team. The GeForce board partner's implementation of an angled 12v-2x6 power connector is another borrowed element. According to VideoCardz's expert opinion, NVIDIA has supplied a reference PCB. Palit is best known for making budget-friendly (mostly plastic) options, so their Tornado card concept represents a compelling breakaway from normal patterns. Despite gaining an important official endorsement; several rival products were similarly decorated with Huang's autograph.

At Computex 2025, Palit showed off its latest Pandora NXNano mini PC, bringing the power of NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX Super to a truly pocket-sized AI platform. At its heart sits an eight-core Arm Cortex-A78AE CPU paired with a 1,024-core Ampere-architecture GPU (32 Tensor Cores), delivering up to 157 TOPS of sparse AI throughput and 78 TOPS dense performance. Up to 16 GB of LPDDR5 memory (102.4 GB/s bandwidth) and a pre-installed 128 GB PCIe Gen 4 SSD ensure both data-intensive models and large datasets run smoothly. Connectivity is generous: dual 10/100/1000 Mb Ethernet, two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C OTG port, plus USB 2.0 and HDMI 2.0 outputs. Four M.2 slots (for storage, Wi-Fi, 5G/LTE or video-capture cards), an 8-lane MIPI CSI-2 camera interface, and headers for I²C, SPI, UART, GPIO, and CAN Bus round out a very flexible I/O package.

Igor's Lab has run independent testing and thermal analysis of NVIDIA's latest GeForce RTX 50-series graphics cards, including the add-in card partner design RTX 5080, 5070 Ti, and 5060 Ti, which are now attracting attention for surprising thermal "hotspots" on the back of their PCBs. These hotspots are just the areas on PCB that get hot under load, and not the "Hot Spot" sensor NVIDIA removed with RTX 50 series. Infrared tests have shown temperatures climbing above 100°C in the power delivery region, even though the GPU die stays below 80°C. This isn't a problem with the silicon but with concentrated heating in clusters of thin copper planes and via arrays. Card makers like Palit, PNY, and MSI have all seen the same issue since they closely follow NVIDIA's reference PCB layout and use similar cooler mounting. A big part of the trouble comes down to how PCB designers and cooler engineers work separately.

NVIDIA's Thermal Design Guide gives AIC partners detailed power-loss budgets, listing worst-case dissipation for the GPU, memory, NVVDD and FBVDDQ rails, inductors, MOSFETs, and other components, and it recommends ideal thermal interface materials and mounting pressures. The guide assumes that even heat is spreading and that there is perfect airflow in a wind tunnel, but actual consumer PCs don't match those conditions. Multi-layer PCBs force high currents through 35 to 70 µm copper layers, which join at tight via clusters under the VRMs. Without dedicated thermal bridges or reinforced vias, these areas become bottlenecks where heat builds up, and the standard backplate plus heat-pipe layout can't pull it away fast enough.

Palit today introduced the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER GameRock OmniBlack graphics card. The GameRock OmniBlack is a variant of the GameRock custom design that does away with all illumination. The acrylic embellishment that's supposed to resemble ice or frost on the cooler shroud, remains, it's not illuminated from behind. The three 80 mm GaleHunter fans are now black and opaque, unlike on the original GameRock board, where they were frosted acrylic, and illuminated. The card features the same heavy aluminium fin-stack heatsink you'd find on the company's RTX 4080 GameRock series. The cooler makes the card 3.5-slot thick (71.5 mm thick), almost 33 cm long, and 13.7 cm tall.

Palit has increased the power limit of the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER to 295 W, up from its reference 285 W, although interestingly, the card sticks to NVIDIA reference clock speeds of 2340 MHz base, and 2610 MHz boost, with its memory running at 21 Gbps. The card offers dual-BIOS, however, both BIOSes run the card at the same speeds, with the "silent" BIOS having a quieter fan profile. Based on the same 5 nm "AD103" silicon as the RTX 4080 and RTX 4080 SUPER, the new RTX 4070 Ti SUPER is equipped with 8,448 CUDA cores, 264 Tensor cores, 66 RT cores, 264 TMUs, and 96 ROPs. Palit did not reveal pricing for the GameRock OmniBlack.

Palit sprung an unexpected surprise at the 2024 Computex. Normally, graphics card partners announce their new custom-design brands alongside new GPU generation launches. Palit took a different path, it rehashed its usual GameRock, JetStream, and Dual OC brands with the RTX 40-series "Ada," back in 2022, but showcased all new custom graphics card designs at Computex 2024, with an expected 5-6 months left for NVIDIA's next-gen GeForce "Blackwell" to hit the scene. The RTX 4090 Neptunus is a variation of the GameRock OC, except it is an air+liquid hybrid cooling solution. The card doesn't include a liquid cooling loop, and out of the box, the air-cooling performance of this card should resemble that of the GameRock, but it has a liquid cooling channel, you use your own G 1/4" fittings, and connect the card to a DIY loop for a transformative upgrade in cooling performance.

Next up, is the RTX 4080 SUPER Beyond Limits. This is Palit being flamboyant with its design, similar to the ASUS ROG Strix or the MSI Gaming X. The card features a very capable 3.5-slot air cooling design with high static-pressure fans, but the star attraction is a large acrylic RGB LED diffuser that runs along the length of the card, which has the Beyond Limits logo, and an infinite-reflection mirror. There is a variant of this card called the Beyond Limits Crystal, which has an "infinity reflection pyramid." The screaming "Beyond Limits" lettering makes way for some abstract shapes.

When Palit launched its GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER custom-design graphics card lineup this January, it only included GamingPro OC and JetStream OC products, conspicuously lacking a high-end GameRock product that it had for the RTX 4080 and RTX 4090. It turns out that the company had big plans for the brand, and we'll hear all about them at Computex 2024, next month. Along the way, though, Palit gave us a delectable tease of what could very well be the RTX 4080 SUPER GameRock, and it features a hybrid cooling solution.

The card features a 4-slot custom design, with the signature molded acrylic pattern on the cooler shroud that's illuminated, and is designed to resemble ice. The shroud holds onto a trio of large fans, which seem to ventilate a large compound fin-stack heatsink underneath; until the teaser turns the card around to reveal liquid cooling fittings! The cooler features an air+liquid hybrid cooling solution. You can use the card with air cooling out of the box, or connect it to a DIY liquid cooling loop for superior cooling and overclocking headroom; and more importantly, reduced noise from its air cooling solution. Although we expect this card to definitely be an RTX 4080 SUPER product, it wouldn't surprise us if Palit extended the design to even the RTX 4090. We'll see when we run into them on June 4, stay tuned!

Palit, and its sister brand Gainward, announced the GeForce RTX 4060 Infinity 2, and GeForce RTX 4060 Python 2 custom design graphics cards, respectively. Both cards feature an identical board design, differing only with their badging and outer boxes. Palit and Gainward seem to sell in the same markets, so you could pick either between the two. The card features identical dimensions to the Palit RTX 4060 DUAL V1 and the Gainward RTX 4060 Ghost V1 (which at least differ with their cooler shroud design).

Both cards get the same pair of 92 mm fans with idle fan-off. So why did Palit/Gainward come up with these? Apparently, cooler shroud of the Infinity 2 and Python 2 lack an RGB LED lighting element that you find on the Palit DUAL V1 and Gainward Ghost V1. The heatsink designs are changed, too. While the Palit DUAL V2 and Gainward Ghost V2 use an aluminium fin-stack heatsink, the newer cards come with an extruded aluminium monoblock heatsink that uses a copper heatpipe to spread heat. The shroud features an S-shaped design element going around the fan intakes, Palit sees the infinity symbol, while Gainward sees a python. Both cards stick to NVIDIA-reference clock speeds for the RTX 4060, of 2460 MHz boost, and 17 Gbps (GDDR6-effective) memory. Palit and Gainward may price the Infinity 2 and Phython at at the ever-shifting baseline price for the RTX 4060, which is now nearing $250 in some places.

Palit has kind of gone against the 12VHPWR grain with its GeForce RTX 4080 Super GamingPro OC graphics card—PC SIG's 16-pin power connector is the default standard for the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 series, but an outbreak of technical snafus has caused many to question the format's future. A new 12V-2x6 connection standard is touted as 12VHPWR's natural successor, but PC parts manufacturers continue to produce products that utilize the latter. HXL discovered a MaxSun custom GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER design that sported two completely bog standard 8-pin PCIe power connectors (in lieu of 12VHPWR), but a follow up report indicates that the Chinese board partner has scrubbed the offending item from its web presences.

Jisakuhibi Japan's review of the Palit GeForce RTX 4080 Super GamingPro OC model included close-up shots of the card's PCB—the publication's social media account noted an intriguing yet empty section: "(Palit's) board seems to be able to natively set the auxiliary power supply to PCIe 8-pin x 2 instead of 12VHPWR." The unoccupied area sits just south-east of the standard 12VHPWR connector—the provisional positioning of pin holes suggests that Palit's PCB could be designed for a separate professional graphics card solution. The company is unlikely to divulge its original intent with the placement of older auxiliary power connectors—ultimately 12VHPWR is the way forward.

NVIDIA today launched the third and final high-end GPU in its GeForce RTX 40-series SUPER refresh. The new GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER is being launched at an attractive $999 price, compared to the $1,199 that the RTX 4080 originally launched at. Besides this huge 20% cut in pricing, there's also more performance on offer, as the company chose to max out the 5 nm AD103 silicon that it's based on. If you recall, the RTX 4080 has 76 out of 80 streaming multiprocessors of the AD103 enabled, and its memory runs at an odd 22.4 Gbps speed. The RTX 4080 SUPER gets all 80 SM, and a well rounded 23 Gbps memory speed.

With 80 SM on tap, you get 10,240 CUDA cores, 320 Tensor cores, 80 RT cores, 320 TMUs, and 112 ROPs. The memory size is unchanged at 16 GB, across the 256-bit wide memory interface of the AD103; as is the total graphics power (TGP), at 320 W. All cards will include an NVIDIA-designed adapter that converts three 8-pin PCIe power connectors into a 12VHPWR that's capable of delivering 450 W of power. The target audience for this card is the same as that of the RTX 4080—maxed out 4K Ultra HD gaming with ray tracing. At $999, the RTX 4080 SUPER allows NVIDIA to better compete with the AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX that's sometimes spotted for prices as low as $900. The new RTX 4070 Ti SUPER is carved out from the 5 nm AD103 silicon, a physically larger silicon than the AD104 that it had maxed out with the original RTX 4070 Ti. Galaxus, a German e-commerce store had a custom NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 graphics card available for purchase yesterday—VideoCardz picked up on this embargo busting listing yesterday evening, but the product page has been removed overnight. Fortunately a screenshot of the Palit Dual's premature retail appearance was kept for preservation purposes. The official launch of NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 (non-Ti) GPUs is scheduled for June 29, and European MSRP is set at €329 ($359). Galaxus had the custom Palit card priced at €339, so a €10 upcharge could be warranted if the included cooling solution is more robust than NVIDIA's reference design, or the extra expense covers the cost of more RGB lighting zones.

Palit revealed its RTX 4060 Dual and StormX series last month, with both variants being factory overclocked (OC). The (now redacted) Galaxus product page seemed to show a not yet announced Dual (non-OC) model, and a product code "NE64060019P1-1070D." Palit's press release from late May mentions that users can customize the Dual's cooler to some degree: "In light of the positive feedback from GamingPro Maker project, now the support is also enabled on the Palit GeForce RTX 40 Dual Series. Users can download the 3D files of the Dual cover and backplate from Palit website to paint or create add-on elements on it, and simply attach the 3D-printed cover to the shroud." More leaks are emerging from Russia regarding NVIDIA's not-yet-officially-confirmed RTX 4060 Ti GPU family - two days ago Marvel Distribution (RU) released details of four upcoming Palit custom design cards, again confirming the standard RTX 4060 Ti GPU configuration of 8 GB VRAM (plus 128-bit memory bus). Earlier today hardware tipster momomo_us managed to track down some more pre-launch time info (rumors point to late May), courtesy of another Russian e-retailer (extremecomp.ru). The four Palit Dual and StormX custom cards from the previous leak are spotted again, but this new listing provides a few extra details.

Palit's four card offerings share the same basic specification of 18 GB/s GDDR6 memory, pointing to a maximum theoretical bandwidth of up to 288 GB/s - derived from the GPU's confirmed 8 GB 128-bit memory interface. The standard Dual variant appears to have a stock clock speed of 2310 MHz, the StormX and StormX OC models are faster at 2535 MHz and 2670 MHz (respectively), and the Dual OC is the group leader with 2685 MHz. The TPU database's (speculative) entry for the reference NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Ti GPU has the base clock listed as 2310 MHz, and the boost clock at 2535 MHz - so the former aligns with the Palit Dual model's normal mode of operation (its boost clock number is unknown), and the latter lines up with the standard StormX variant's (presumed) boost mode. Therefore the leaked information likely shows only the boosted clock speeds for Palit's StormX, StormX OC and Dual OC cards.

NVIDIA is expected to roll out its RTX 4060 Ti GPU series later this month but the American hardware giant has not issued any official material about these cards - leaks have so far become the only sources of specification and configuration information. A launch price of $450 is mooted, and the low-to-midrange RTX 4060 Ti is likely to sport NVIDIA's AD106 GPU (based on its Ada Lovelace graphics architecture). Previous leaks have indicated that this variant will be offered in an 8 GB VRAM configuration with a 128-bit memory interface, although TPU hardware archivist (T4C Fantasy) reckons that NVIDIA's board partners can opt for larger pools of video memory.
