We are just a few weeks away from the launch of NVIDIA's latest GeForce RTX 3060 graphics cards based on the new Ampere architecture, and there is already some news regarding the lineup position and its possible distortion. According to multiple sources over at Overclocking.com, NVIDIA is set to re-introduce its previous generation GeForce RTX 2060 and RTX 2060 SUPER graphics cards to the market. Once again. The source claims that NVIDIA is already pushing the stock over to its board partners and system integrators to use the last-generation product. So far, it is not clear why the company is doing this and we can only speculate on it.

The source also claims that the pricing structure of the old cards will be 300 EUR for RTX 2060 and 400 EUR for RTX 2060 SUPER in Europe. The latter pricing models directly competes with the supposed 399 EUR price tag of the upcoming GeForce RTX 3060 Ti model, which is based on the newer Ampere uArch instead of the last-gen Turing cards. The possibility for such a move is a possible scarce of GA106/GA104 silicon needed for the new cards, and the company could be aiming to try and satisfy the market with left-over stock from the previous generation cards.

ASUS was the first AIC partner to announce that due to increased costs in procuring supplies and components for PC component manufacture, it would be increasing prices on its motherboards and graphics cards. That announcement from ASUS seems to have opened the floodgates on other manufacturers, as now both EVGA and ZOTAC have increased pricing for their graphics cards - specifically for NVIDIA's RTX 30-series.

EVGA took a similar approach to ASUS, and announced via its website the changes in pricing and their effective date - January 11th. The company's announcement (which you can read in full after the break) sees pricing increase at around $70 across the board of already-launched NVIDIA RTX 30-series graphics cards. The company will still honor users in the queue system for a new graphics card with the previous pricing structure, should their orders complete through April 16th.

MSI are seemingly readying themselves to update their RTX 3060 Ti Ventus 2X graphics card with a relatively deep revision. The new Ventus 2X V1 graphics card keeps all the same frequencies and clocks of the previous Ventus 2X (1695 MHz boost clock in the OC model), and the same TGP of 200 W. The bulk of the revisions are focused on the cards' power delivery and heat dissipation systems.

The new, revised Ventus 2X V1does away with the original's 2x 8-pin connectors, and offers a single 8-pin connector for power delivery purposes. This could mean lowered overclocking ceilings for the card, but I suppose we'll only know the answer to that when these are out there in the wild. The fact that MSI also revised the cooling system, however, seems to give credence to that overclocking headroom theory: with less power being (possibly) delivered to the card, MSI has seen it fit to make the Ventus 2X V1 a thinner card compared to its predecessor (it's a 2-slot card now, at 42 mm, whereas it was a 2.2-slot in the first revision, at 52 mm).

ZOTAC has had a rather spartan custom RTX 30-series lineup in the West, with only its Trinity, Twin-Edge, and Holo board designs covering the RTX 3080 and RTX 3090 series. The company plans to change this, with the introduction of a better endowed custom board series, under the PGF series. ZOTAC debuted the PGF brand with the GeForce GTX 10-series "Pascal" family, mostly in the Greater China region, and targeted at enthusiasts. The RTX 20-series "Turing" didn't see PGF branded cards. It now makes a comeback with the RTX 30-series "Ampere." As with the older cards, these are being launched as China-exclusive. It remains to be seen if they reach Western markets.

Both cards feature a common board design with a large triple-slot, triple-fan cooling solution that's dunked in RGB LED embellishments. Both cards feature exotic VRM components such as multi-phase capacitors for better electrical noise suppression. The RTX 3080 PGF comes with GPU Boost frequencies of 1770 MHz (vs. 1710 MHz reference), while the RTX 3090 PGF does 1755 MHz GPU Boost (vs. 1695 MHz reference). The RTX 3070 PGF runs up to 1785 MHz GPU Boost (vs. 1725 MHz reference), and there's even an RTX 3060 Ti PGF, doing 1725 MHz GPU Boost (vs. 1665 MHz reference).

Danish online retailer ProShop, via its German outlet Proshop.de, responding to criticism on lack of inventory of GeForce RTX 30-series graphics cards, came clear with the numbers. The retailer tabulated its entire RTX 3060 Ti, RTX 3070, RTX 3080, and RTX 3090 inventory, along with numbers of cards shipped by manufacturers in response to orders placed by the retailer to them, providing a valuable insight into the stark reality of the GeForce RTX 30-series availability situation. We see zero fulfillment of orders by manufacturers for several graphics card models; and very limited fulfillment in cases where the manufacturer decided to fulfill some of the orders, with the manufacturers barely shipping 20% of the cards ordered by the retailer.

These numbers fly in the face of the theory that demand for the RTX 30-series is "unprecedented." If you go by what NVIDIA or AMD say, graphics cards are reaching retailers, and flying off the shelves sooner than stocks could be replenished. This would hold ground if there was a near parity between cards ordered by this retailer, and order fulfillment by manufacturers; which clearly isn't the case. NVIDIA today released the latest version of its GeForce Game Ready drivers. Version 457.51 WHQL adds support for the new GeForce RTX 3060 Ti graphics card which goes on sale today. It also addresses a handful issues. To begin with, a BSOD noticed on machines with "Ampere" GPUs, when waking the machine from sleep, has been fixed. A bug seen with FreeStyle or Ansel launching and closing on "Star Wars: Squadrons" causing the feature to stop working on supported games, has been fixed. A BSOD seen when playing or browsing videos on the Google Chrome web-browser has been fixed. Lastly, display corruption noticed on the Lenovo Y740 notebook when waking up from sleep, has been fixed. The GPU is based on the same 8 nm "GA104" silicon as the $499 RTX 3070, but is heavily cut down, in featuring 38 out of 48 SMs (19 out of 24 TPCs), resulting in 4,864 CUDA cores, 152 Tensor cores, 38 RT cores, 152 TMUs, and 80 ROPs.

The RTX 3060 Ti is endowed with the same memory setup as the RTX 2060 Super—8 GB of 256-bit GDDR6 at 14 Gbps, yielding 448 GB/s bandwidth. NVIDIA is readying its GeForce RTX 30-series "Ampere" mobile GPUs for the first half of 2021, reports WCCFTech, citing a leaked company slide detailing the upcoming mGPU product stack. The slide mentions a January 2021 launch for the RTX 3080 Mobile and RTX 3070 Mobile, followed by an RTX 3060 Mobile launch later. The same product stack slide compares performance of these parts to desktop RTX 20-series GPUs, with the RTX 3080 Mobile being compared to desktop RTX 2080 Super (or roughly desktop RTX 3060 Ti performance), while the RTX 3070 Mobile is shown offering performance roughly comparable to desktop RTX 2070 Super or RTX 2070. The RTX 3060 Mobile offers roughly desktop RTX 2070 / RTX 2060 performance.

3DMark scores of the upcoming NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti were leaked to the web by VideoCardz. The RTX 3060 Ti was put through standard 3DMark Fire Strike and Time Spy benchmark runs. In the DirectX 11-based Fire Strike benchmark, the card allegedly scores 30706 points, with 146.05 FPS in GT1 and 122 FPS in GT2. With the newer DirectX 12-based Time Spy test, it allegedly scores 12175 points, with 80.82 FPS in GT1, and 68.71 FPS in GT2. There are no system specs on display, but the scores put the RTX 3060 Ti slightly ahead of the previous-generation high-end GeForce RTX 2080 Super.

The GeForce RTX 3060 Ti, bound for a December 2 launch, is an upcoming performance-segment graphics card based on the "Ampere" architecture, and is carved out of the same 8 nm "GA104" silicon as the RTX 3070. It reportedly packs 4,864 "Ampere" CUDA cores, 38 second-gen RT cores, 152 third-gen Tensor cores, and the same memory configuration as the RTX 3070—8 GB of 14 Gbps GDDR6 across a 256-bit wide bus. NVIDIA is targeting a "<$399" price-point, making the card at least 43% cheaper than the RTX 2080 Super.

GIGABYTE is readying its premium GeForce RTX 3060 Ti offering, the RTX 3060 Ti AORUS Master. Characterized by a premium board design that has a meaty triple-slot, triple-fan cooling solution; plenty of RGB embellishments, and possibly the company's largest factory overclock to boot, this card's most striking feature has to be its display output setup, which includes three each of DisplayPort 1.4a and HDMI 2.1 connectors. The cooler features two aluminium fin-stacks ventilated by a trio of fans that are arranged such that the fan in the middle is receded and overlapped by the other two fans. Among the other RTX 3060 Ti custom-design cards being readied by GIGABYTE are a Gaming OC Pro and Eagle OC.

The upcoming NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti Founders Edition has recently been pictured ahead of its launch on December 2nd. The upcoming graphics card features the GA104-200 GPU paired with 8 GB of GDDR6 14 Gbps memory on a 256-bit bus. The RTX 3060 TI Founders Edition cooler is near identical to that of the RTX 3070 Founders Edition except for a slightly more silver design on the 3060 Ti. The RTX 3060 Ti Founders Edition is rumored to retail for 399 USD and includes 4864 CUDA cores, 152 Tensor cores, and 38 RT cores which NVIDIA claims will help it beat the previous generation RTX 2080 SUPER.

CPU Infotech, a Bosnian retailer of computer hardware, recently posted a photo of their latest inventory entries on Facebook. The photo showcased the newly/received Gigabyte RTX 3060 Ti EAGLE graphics cards, one of Gigabyte's designs for this particular SKU. The RTX 3060 Ti EAGLE features a dual-slot, dual-fan cooler design that's the smallest seen on any Ampere graphics card to date. The retailer announces that the inventory should be for sale pretty soon - and all publicly available information points towards a December 2nd release date for the RTX 3060 Ti.

According to a leaked NVIDIA performance guidance slide for the RTX 3060 Ti, the company claims the card to consistently beat the GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER, a $700 high-end SKU from the previous "Turing" generation. The same slide also shows a roughly 40% performance gain over the previous generation RTX 2060 SUPER, which is probably the logical predecessor for this card. In related news, PC Master Race (OfficialPCMR) on its Facebook page posted pictures of boxes of an ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 3060 Ti OC graphics cards, which confirms the existence of this SKU. The picture of the card on the box reveals a design similar to other TUF Gaming RTX 30-series cards launched by ASUS so far. As for price, VideoCardz predicts a $399 MSRP for the SKU, which should nearly double the price-performance for this card over the RTX 2080 SUPER at NVIDIA's performance numbers.

Like always, a product registration with this legal body doesn't automatically mean that all models do enter the market - sometimes these are registered in bulk by companies with models that they are planning on releasing and models that they think they might want to release at one point in time, just so that they only enter the paperwork once. However, these entries by MSI are interesting, particularly, because they mention a new MSI model that's likely reserved for below enthusiast-level graphics cards: there are two Twin Fan models (one OC, one absent of it).

All in all, these are the eight models that MSI registered: GeForce RTX 3060 Ti Gaming X Trio; GeForce RTX 3060 Ti Gaming Trio; GeForce RTX 3060 Ti Ventus 3X OC; GeForce RTX 3060 Ti Ventus 3X; GeForce RTX 3060 Ti Ventus 2X OC; GeForce RTX 3060 Ti Ventus 2X; GeForce RTX 3060 Ti Twin Fan OC; and the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti Twin Fan. Current information places the RTX 3060 Ti as using the same 392 mm², 17.4 B transistor GA104 chip as the RTX 3070, albeit under the GA104-200 nomenclature; the chip is expected to leverage 4,864 CUDA cores, 152 Tensor Cores, and 38 RT Cores (the RTX 3070 features 5888, 184, and 46 of these respectively). This makes out a 21% difference in number of execution units, which certainly won't make out to a full 21% performance difference. The card is expected to launch on December 2nd.
