Aukey KM-G4 RGB Mechanical Keyboard Review

Packaging & Accessories »

Aukey as a brand is more popular for their portable power and charging accessories, but as with most companies these days, they are expanding their product portfolio to meet the needs of their customers. A part of this involves PC peripherals, including RGB backlit mechanical keyboards because why not? My predecessor here on TechPowerUp, David Albido, took a look at their KM-G3 RGB keyboard and was very impressed with the value for money it offered. One of the things that kept the price point low are the on-board controls for lighting with no software driver support, and when Aukey told me they have a new keyboard that does everything the KM-G3 did and more while costing the same, it was an offer I could not refuse. Thanks again to Aukey for providing the review sample.

The KM-G4 is Aukey's latest keyboard offering to the PC gaming market. The similar naming scheme suggests it shares a lot in common with the KM-G3, and they do both look identical upon having taken a first look. They are both full-size, 104-key ANSI layout keyboards offering backlighting support on all keys, a brushed aluminum top frame, and doubleshot ABS keycaps. It is in the details where things are different, however, and thus, we begin the review with a look at the specifications below.
