A Closer Look

CRYORIG's C7 is, as you can see, rather tiny, meeting the specifications of Intel's and AMD's keep-out zone. Made up of four heatpipes and 57 aluminum fins, it has some fairly beefy specs for such a tiny cooler.

The unit is made up of aluminum and nickel-plated copper. It weighs in at 295 g for the heatsink alone, and adding the fan brings it weight up to 357 g.

Looking down through the top, we can see that the heatpipes are arranged in two U-shapes that are opposite to each other. They deliver heat directly from the copper base to the 57 aluminum fins. The base is smooth to the touch, and while not a mirror finish, the nickel plating does look quiet nice. Readers will also notice that the stand offs for installing the cooler are pre-installed by CRYORIG.

CRYORIG coupled the C7 with a 92 mm x 92 mm x 15 mm fan that spins at 600-2500 RPM, a wide RPM range. Acoustic dampening rubber is attached to the fan's plastic frame to reduce noise due to vibrations. The fact that the fan uses a specific frame for the cooler makes replacing it a bit more problematic, requiring a bit of DIY ingenuity.
