Having won numerous awards from reviewers the world over, they also have a strong position as a top-tier manufacturer.

When talking about Enermax, I immediately think of their power supplies since their PSUs have garnered numerous awards over the years with their extremely high quality and exceptional performance. The Revolution85+, Galaxy EVO, MAXREVO, and Platimax units have all been solid performers. Add to that the unique look that sets Enermax power supplies apart from the competition and it is no wonder they are an enthusiast favorite. Not content to stick to one market segment, they have also expanded their lineup for fans, cases, and coolers.

In today's review, I will be looking at Enermax's LIQMAX 120S. Its a standard 120mm all-in-one liquid CPU cooler with a bit of a twist. The fan bundled with the LIQMAX includes APS control, which allows users to set its maximum fan speed to 1300 / 2000 /2500 RPM, so not only can you choose to maximize performance, you can opt for a low-noise operation as well—all while retaining PWM functionality. Granted, keeping noise levels down will have performance suffer. With that said, let us see what the LIQMAX 120S is capable of!

Packaging and Contents

The Enermax LIQMAX 120S comes in a rather sturdy medium-sized box. The box measures in at roughly 27.94 cm in length, 26 cm in width, and 13.97 cm in height. Its top holds an image of the cooler's available formats, the HP model and TAA model. Today's review covers the HP version without an LED fan, while the TAA features one with blue LEDs. Some of the all-in-one liquid CPU cooler's features are also listed. These include its Shunt Channel technology, APS PWM fans, detachable fan blades, and more. A list of supported sockets is also readily visible. The front shows an image of the cooler's pump with Enermax's blue-glowing logo. All there is on the left is the product name and Enermax's logo.

The back has a paragraph in various languages describing the cooler and its function, while the right side again holds nothing but the product name and Enermax's logo. The bottom of the box lists all the specifications for the radiator, fan, and pump, along with a list of features and a diagram of the cooler's dimensions.

A cardboard box with a cardboard tray protects Enermax's LIQMAX 120S inside its packaging, which is par the course for most liquid AIO coolers. While not great, it is more than adequate and does a fine job in keeping the contents organized. A final bit of foam has been placed on top. It helps in keeping all components in place during transit, while also adding a tiny bit of padding. Overall, solid packaging with no real issues to report on.

The LIQMAX 120S from Enermax comes with everything you need to mount the cooler onto modern CPU sockets. While nothing here is truly amazing, it is good to see additional fan screws included for those looking to install a second fan. That's a nice touch many AIO kits tend to do without.
