Packaging and Accessories

The box of the REVOLUTION D.F. 12 follows the packaging style we saw with the PlatiGemini PSU - a brown cardboard box with a white band around it, including an image of the unit, all the main specifications including the DC output table, a list of included cables as well as main features. The D.F. switch spins the fan in the opposite direction to remove some of the accumulated dust (while this is also performed when the computer is being shut down, this might be useful to those who keep their machines running 24/7).

Opening the box reveals the user's manual with the securely packaged PSU and the modular cables tucked underneath it. Alongside the plentiful modular cable selection Enermax includes an AC cable, mounting screws, a testing jumpstart cover for the 24 pin connector and a set of white combs to organize the included cables in your case.

The white textured / mesh-sleeved cables with white connectors feel premium, look great and nicely compliment the overall white aesthetics of the PSU. In terms of available cabling, we find everything we could hope for a unit of this wattage (the 750 W version also has the exact same set of cables available).

With two 8 pin CPU power connectors, three PCIe 8 pin power cables, plus a 600 W capable 12V-2x6 cable the PSU is well-equipped to handle a mid-to-high end single GPU machine. In terms of peripheral devices, two SATA power cables with 4 connectors each provide plenty of power for storage devices and there is an additional 4 pin Molex cable providing four connectors. The lengths overall are pretty standard.

Most of the cables provided are 18 AWG with only the 12V-2x6 cable (and a few strands on the 24 pin cable) being thicker, at 16 AWG. Not a significant downside given the power range of the unit, plus thinner cables are typically slightly easier to manage in the constrained spaces the unit is designed for.

None of the cables feature any inline capacitors for ripple/noise suppression.

Overall the REVOLUTION D.F. 12 850 W provides plenty of cabling for a unit of this wattage.
