Software

The Model D software is basically identical to the Model O/O- software. All options are accessible on a single page. All buttons can be remapped, including mouse, media, and CPI functions. Profile management and a macro editor are available as well. CPI adjustment is possible for up to six color-coded levels and a range of 400–12,000 CPI, in increments of 100. Furthermore, it is possible to configure x and y-sensitivity independently. LOD can either be set to 2 or 3 mm. Polling rate can be set to 125 Hz, 250 Hz, 500 Hz, or 1000 Hz. Lastly, debounce time (which effectively controls click latency) can be set from 4 to 16 ms. Upon applying any changes, all settings are saved to the on-board memory, so the software does not need to be running (or be installed) all the time. On my system, the software had a RAM footprint of 9 MB on average.

Lighting

The Model D has three zones for RGB lighting (both sides and the scroll wheel), which cannot be controlled independently of each other. Through the software, it is possible to select one of eight available pre-defined lighting modes. "Glorious Mode" is the default and presents a continuous color stream. "Seamless Breathing" cycles through all the colors seamlessly. "Breathing" does the same, just with transitions. "Single Color" is self-explanatory. "Breathing (Single Color)" is the same as "Breathing," just with a single color. "Tail" sends shocks of color from the top to the bottom. "Rave" engages the mouse in blinking mode. "Wave" is quite similar to "Glorious Mode," just with more blinking. Furthermore, it is possible to adjust the direction and the speed of transitions. Of course, it is also possible to disable the lighting altogether.
