Glorious Model O- Review

Packaging

Glorious revised their packaging for the most recent batches of the Model O- (and Model O). The new box is both wider and longer, but not as tall as the old one. Instead of being routed behind the plastic tray on which the mouse sits, the cable is now placed right next to it, eliminating any risk of the cable bending causing issues. The box includes the mouse, several stickers, a quick start guide, and a card with some words from Glorious' CEO.

Weight

My scale shows around 57 g (+/- 1 g) with a bit of cable—an excellent result. Glorious indicates a weight of 58 g without the cable, which appears accurate given this result.

Cable

New batches of the Model O- (and Model O) have been updated with an improved version of Glorious' "Ascended" cable. Compared to the previous version (pictured on the right), it's much thinner and a fair bit firmer, while retaining its flexibility. Glorious also offers several color variants (eight at the time of writing) of this cable for individual purchase and self-installation. The length is 2 m (measured). The cable has a ferrite bead attached to it, which helps reduce noise, as well as a gold-plated USB connector.

Feet

The feet on the Model O- are white-dyed 100% (>99%) PTFE (Teflon) feet. Feet made out of 100% PTFE should last longer and provide a smoother glide. In terms of shape and size, they are identical with the Model O feet. Compared to the feet on my first batch Model O, I do notice edges that are more rounded. In any case, the glide is excellent.
