Shape and Dimensions

Shape

Prior to release, the shape of the Burst Pro was frequently likened to that of the Microsoft Wheel Mouse Optical (WMO for short), which to this day hasn't been replicated. As evidenced by the dimensions below, the Burst Pro is indeed not far off at all: A widened butt, a front that doesn't flare out, and mostly straight, non-concave sides. There is a key difference, though. Whereas the hump on the WMO is dead center and gradually slopes down towards both ends, the hump on the Burst Pro is positioned more towards the back. This makes the Burst Pro better for claw grip, but also affects the dynamic of the shape as a whole, as the butt ends up being fuller and more in the way compared to the WMO. Depending on one's grip and hand size, vertical adjustments may be easier to make on the WMO by comparison. Still, the overall profile is sufficiently similar, so long-time WMO fans will no doubt find great joy in the Burst Pro. All in all, it's a very neutral and agreeable shape that handles perfectly well in practice.

As for grip styles, I'd say the Burst Pro generally suits all three main grip styles (palm, claw, and finger tip grip). It's a medium-sized mouse with a moderately pronounced hump, which should make it generally suited for most hand sizes. For reference, my hands are 19 cm long and 10 cm wide, and I found the Burst Pro very comfortable in claw grip.

Dimensions

This table includes the dimensions of the ROCCAT Burst Pro and several other ambidextrous mice, along with a right-handed ergonomic one. "Front height" denotes the distance between the base and main buttons. Measurements with two decimals have been taken with a caliper, while those with one decimal have been taken with a ruler.
