Overclocking

Manual overclocking has gotten slightly stabler than on AMD's first drivers. We still had to raise the power limit to its maximum to see any meaningful overclocking.

With manual overclocking, maximum overclock of our sample is 1900 MHz on the memory (9% overclock) and 2104 MHz on the GPU, which increases average GPU clock from 1971 MHz to 2064 MHz (5% overclock). Memory overclocking is now limited by the length of the slider in Wattman, which stops at 950 MHz.

Sapphire's TRIXX software includes a new feature called "TRIXX Boost", which lets you easily create a custom resolution in very fine steps to nicely tune the upscaling to your FPS demands. Our Sapphire Pulse review has more details.

Overclocked Performance

Using these clock frequencies, we ran a quick test of Unigine Heaven to evaluate the gains from overclocking.


Actual 3D performance gained from overclocking is 3.3%.
