Introduction

The Prime TX ATX 3.0 1600 W represents Seasonic's halo model in its top of the line PSU series. The original Prime TX-1600, released back in 2022, was regarded as one of the best power supplies available in the premium segment. However, not featuring full ATX 3.0 support, it received a refresh in 2023.

Seeing as the 2022 model already had a 133 A capable 12 V rail, Titanium efficiency levels, a fully modular design, and a 12-year warranty, the refresh focusing on updating the platform to ATX 3.0 standards leaves little to complain about. However, other changes can be also observed on the specification sheet for the fan control mechanism, the style of the fully modular cables and, interestingly, a reduction in the MTBF metric for fanless operation mode (going down from 150,000 hours to 100,000 at 25 °C).

At a length of 210 mm the PSU is definitely on the larger side, but that is not uncommon for such high wattage units. The full specifications can be found in the tables below.
