Sharkhan is a newcomer in the DIY PC market, having been established in 2018. In the short time since their formation, they have rapidly expanded and now offer liquid coolers, air coolers, laptop cooling pads, cases, gaming mice, thermal paste, and more. Suffice it to say they are on an upward trend and are already seeking to gain a foothold in the North American market. It will be quite interesting to see what they come out with next.

In today's review, I will be taking a look at Sharkhan's APEX 240 all-in-one liquid cooler. It is an ARGB illuminated AIO liquid cooler with both the pump and fans featuring vivid lighting that makes you take notice. Like other AIO liquid coolers, it uses the industry-standard 240 mm form factor. A larger 360 mm sibling is available as well. It should also be noted that Sharkhan has black and white versions available depending on the user's preference or build theme, which is nice. So with all that having been said, let's take a closer look at the APEX 240!

Packaging

The packaging is typical for an all-in-one liquid cooler and features a color image of the Apex 240 front and center. The orange and black scheme with the white version of the product is attention-grabbing as well. It's also nice to see the warranty clearly presented on the front of the box, which is something other vendors can learn from. Sharkhan lists the various features of the cooler on the front as well, including its usage of 5-volt ARGB. Moving on to the left side shows the cooler again, along with a smaller insert of the black version. The back of the box, much like the front, lists the cooler's features, but in multiple languages.

Taking a look at the right-hand side, there is a spot to verify what version of the cooler is in the box. Specifications for the cooler and its dimensions are found on the top and bottom, respectively.

Contents

The Sharkhan APEX 240 comes in your bog-standard cardboard tray coupled with a thin sheet of foam on top. While not what I like to see, it is more than adequate and does the job.

The box lists support for all of Intel's sockets, including LGA775. For AMD, Sharkhan only lists AM3, AM3+, and AM4; however, considering AM2, FM2, etc., use the same mounting design, the cooler should fit on those sockets as well, which makes the lack of them being supported a bit of a head-scratcher, especially as they list support for the ancient LGA775.

Common parts supplied for mounting include:
  • 8x Fan screws
  • 8x Radiator screws
  • 4x Intel bolts
  • 4x Intel LGA2011 /2066 screw pillars
  • 4x AMD nuts
  • 4x Mounting bracket screws
  • 2x 120 mm ARGB LED fans
  • 2x Intel mounting bracket
  • 2x AMD mounting bracket
  • 1x Tube of thermal paste
  • 1x Backplate
  • 1x Pre-filled liquid cooler
  • 1x User's manual
  • 1x Y-cable
  • 1x Scraper
  • 1x ARGB controller
