Assembly

Installing the motherboard is done by traditional means using simple spacers. Once in place, it becomes apparent that the chassis is so compact that a large tower cooler won't fit inside. This means that you will have to stick to the OEM unit or grab yourself a top-down cooler.

After the board is in place, you should consider installing the graphics card first. All that previously mentioned free space allows you to install even the longest units, but you have to make sure to pre-connect any power plugs before dropping the graphics card into the slot. Follow this order and the Precision PS08 could become quite the power house with the right parts.

Installing the 2.5" or 3.5" drive is actually done by the trusted and true method: screws. Simply place them in their respective locations and screw them down.

Before you are able to install a 5.25" bay, you have to remove the cover. This is easily done thanks to its shape and does not require the removal of the front panel. Once free, slide the drive in place and screw it down.

Silverstone has decided against the use of tool-less systems within the Precision PS08, which is, in my opinion, a good choice. The same goes for the power supply, which is also secured with the included black screws and through the use of a screwdriver. As you can see, a short PSU will fit just fine, but those planning on going all out with larger units should double check to see how long their optical drive will be.

Once everything is in place, the interior does not come across as cluttered as one may have expected it to be. This is simply because all the cables are hidden inside some room below the 3.5" hard drive bay. Traditional cable routing and hiding is virtually impossible.

Finished Looks

With everything in place, the case makes a good impression, and most people may not realize that the Precision PS08 could quite easily hold a high-end dual-GPU configuration within. The only hint you would get is through the vent on the side of the case. In the rear, all connectivity is easily accessible, including the PSU plug in the top of the chassis.
