Silverstone Tundra TD02-LITE Review

Introduction

From the Silverstone website:
Here at SilverStone Technology, we continue to pride ourselves in providing the highest level of standards in designing and manufacturing computer enclosures, power supplies, and accessories. Our pursuit for the first class aesthetic appeal is relentless; our teams of devoted engineers are constantly searching for the best technologies that suit end-users with different needs and will make our products as technologically sound as they are beautiful.

When it comes to the PC-enthusiast space, Silverstone has garnered a rather large following, which is in no small part due to their many exceptional products. With a policy of perfect quality and outstanding design and a desire for customer satisfaction, it is not all that hard to see why they have become so popular. Silverstone's outstanding cases, coolers, fans, power supplies, and more have made them a world leader of PC hardware and accessories.

Silverstone can trace their success back to many products; however, a few do stand out. The unique layout of the original Raven case made it a smash hit. The Temjin and Sugo series cases continue to offer top quality and exceptional designs with each new iteration. When it comes to the fast-moving, constantly evolving PC-hardware market, Silverstone is always pushing to be at the forefront. Not to be out-done, Silverstone has also entered the all-in-one liquid cooler market with the Tundra series, and even here, they seek to be different by offering unique looks or attractive price points in order to set themselves apart from the competition.

Having already reviewed the TD03-LITE, it should come as no surprise that I will review the TD02-LITE today. This standard 240 mm all-in-one liquid cooler from Silverstone could be a sleeper hit with its MSRP of just $79.99. With two fans and a 240 mm radiator, it has the chops, but the real question is where it will fall in relation to its competitors. Lets get started!

Packaging and Contents

The plain brown box Silverstone shipped the Tundra TD02-LITE in measures roughly 32 cm in length, 22 cm in width, and 14 cm in height. The front of the box has a rendering of the TD02-LITE and a short features list that mentions its maintenance-free design and thick, leak-proof tubing. Moving on to the left side, there is a close-up of the pump. Users will find the pump's and radiator's exact measurements on the back of the box.

The right side has a rendering of the radiator and fans. Look at the top of the box and you will find a paragraph in various languages that lists the cooler's features, detailed in English on the box front. Last but not least, the bottom lists the Silverstone TD02-LITE's specifications.

Opening the box, I am greeted by the same old packaging for most AIO coolers—a foam top that covers the AIO CPU cooler inside a cardboard tray. While the packaging may be plain, it does serve its purpose and that's all that really matters.

Silverstone made sure to support all modern AMD and Intel sockets with the TD02-LITE, even going so far as to include extra fan screws for today's 15 mm slim fans. While not a massive deal, it is a nice inclusions for those niche cases or odd moments when an all-in-one cooler might be to thick to clear, say, the motherboard with standard fans.

Common parts supplied for mounting include:
  • 8x Radiator screws
  • 8x Standard fan screws
  • 8x Slim fan screws
  • 4x backplate screws
  • 4x Screws for LGA2011
  • 4x Black plastic spacers
  • 4x Spring screws
  • 2x AMD mounting brackets
  • 2x Intel mounting brackets
  • 2x 120 mm fan
  • 1x Backplate
  • 1x CLC unit
  • 1x User's manual
  • 1x Y-cable
  • 1x 4-pin to molex
  • 1x Tube thermal paste
