Introduction

SteelSeries Logo

SteelSeries is a Denmark-based peripherals company founded in 2001. Aside from being smaller than the Prime, the Prime Mini has received several improvements over its bigger brother. First, while the Prime Mini still comes with a detachable cable, it now is Type-A to Type-C instead of Micro-USB, and no longer has a triangular connector, which limited cross-compatibility on the regular Prime. Second, the Prime Mini has been outfitted with the higher-quality white-dyed pure PTFE feet that used to be exclusive to the Prime Wireless. Other than that, the Prime Mini is still equipped with the TrueMove Pro sensor, which essentially is PixArt's PMW3389, and SteelSeries' own Prestige OM switches. OM is short for optical-mechanical, as these switches utilize a torsion spring, held in place by a magnet and breaking the beam of light upon actuation. The Prime Mini weighs just 63 g, yet has no holes anywhere. Basic RGB lighting is present, too, and can be configured within SteelSeries GG.
