First of all we would like to thank CaseKing.de and OCUK for supplying the sample. CaseKing.de and OCUK are known for the width of their gaming product portfolio which of course includes all of Zowie's current products.

Zowie entered the gaming scene with a set of well-designed optical gaming mice a year ago. Today we have the new version for test which is dubbed the Zowie AM Gaming mouse. The AM mouse uses an optical Avago 3090-series sensor with custom optics. It is capped at 2300 DPI which might not seem like a lot, but for 99% of the gaming population it will be more than enough. Instead of adding to the DPI/CPI hype going on at the moment with the recent release of the world's first 8200 DPI laser sensor Zowie have focused on what really matters to most gamers, namely per DPI accuracy and consistency. The sensor used has no prediction whatsoever which should give you a better feel for small movements, also the sensors lift-off distance has been tweaked by swapping out the optics giving the mouse a lift-off-distance of around 1.5 mm which is low even by laser sensor standards.
