The Corsair HS70 Wireless is the newest addition to the company's gaming headset lineup. If you're unfamiliar with the HS series of Corsair's headsets, you'll be interested to find out that they are meant for gamers whose budgets are too tight to consider the models from the Void Pro series (we reviewed the Void Pro RGB USB here and the Void Pro RGB Wireless here). The wired, analogue HS50 falls into the $50 price bracket, while its wireless sibling HS70 Wireless was just released with an MSRP of $90. That makes the HS70 Wireless one of the least expensive brand-name wireless gaming headsets on the market.

The short description of the Corsair HS70 Wireless? They took the HS50, cut its wire, and added a wireless USB dongle. The dongle, which serves both as a wireless transmitter/receiver and a USB sound card, supports 7.1 virtual surround sound as well as various other goodies we get by using the Corsair Utility Engine software, such as a system-wide equalizer, multiple audio profiles, and microphone monitoring. The design and build quality remains exactly the same as on the HS50. Making a wireless headset, especially an inexpensive one, comes with a unique set of challenges, so read on to find out how well Corsair tackled them.
