The Crucial P2 was a solid-state drive in the M.2 2280 form factor, launched on April 20th, 2020, that is no longer in production. It was available in capacities ranging from 250 GB to 500 GB. This page reports specifications for the 250 GB variant. With the rest of the system, the Crucial P2 interfaces using a PCI-Express 3.0 x4 connection. The SSD controller is the PS5013-E13-31 from Phison, a DRAM cache is not available. Crucial has installed 176-layer TLC NAND flash on the P2, the flash chips are made by Micron. Please note that this SSD is sold in multiple variants with different NAND flash or controller, which could affect performance, the "Notes" section at the end of this page has more info. To improve write speeds, a pseudo-SLC cache is used, so bursts of incoming writes are soaked up more quickly. The P2 is rated for sequential read speeds of up to 2,100 MB/s and 1,150 MB/s write; random IOPS reach up to 170K for reads and 260K for writes.
At its launch, the SSD was priced at 50 USD. The warranty length is set to five years, which is an excellent warranty period. Crucial guarantees an endurance rating of 150 TBW, a typical value for consumer SSDs.

Notes

Drive:

Although Micron claims the drive uses FortisFlash B27A (96-Layers)
Newer revisions are coming with Micron's QLC N28A FortisFlash 96-Layers

Controller:

1 main core using Cortex-R5 clocked at 667 MHz with CoXProcessor technology (one additional dual-core) Cortex-R5 clocked at a lower clock for better efficience.

NAND Die:

This Flash can run safely at 1600 MT/s (800 MHz)
tPROG with overhead: ~ 533 µs (Avg 120 MB/s per die)
