The Intel 670p is a solid-state drive in the M.2 2280 form factor, launched in December 2020. It is available in capacities ranging from 512 GB to 2 TB. This page reports specifications for the 1 TB variant. With the rest of the system, the Intel 670p interfaces using a PCI-Express 3.0 x4 connection. The SSD controller is the SM2265 from Silicon Motion, a DRAM cache chip is available. Intel has installed 144-layer QLC NAND flash on the 670p, the flash chips are made by Intel. To improve write speeds, a pseudo-SLC cache is used, so bursts of incoming writes are processed more quickly. The cache is sized at 140 GB. The 670p is rated for sequential read speeds of up to 3,500 MB/s and 2,500 MB/s write; random IOPS reach up to 220K for reads and 330K for writes.
At its launch, the SSD was priced at 154 USD. The warranty length is set to five years, which is an excellent warranty period. Intel guarantees an endurance rating of 370 TBW, a relatively low value compared to other SSDs.
