Windows 10 Creators Update Available for Download

Even though the awaited Creators Update for Windows 10 is only set to arrive on April 11th, users who want to get ahead of the launch - and maybe themselves - can now update their version of Windows. Through the Windows 10 Update Assistant, Microsoft has made it possible for users to update to the latest version of windows ahead of time. After downloading and running the tool from Microsoft's website, it should display that Build 15063 is available - the official build number for the Creators Update.

The most awaited feature for the upcoming Windows update should be the Game Mode, though Beam live-streaming (which some say is better than Twitch) from the Game Bar, a PiP (picture-in-picture) mode for streaming videos while working on those pesky Excel budget .xlxs, and improved privacy settings (which aren't at the same level as the special edition built for the chinese market, though.) Microsoft's Edge is also seeing performance and security improvements, and Windows will now integrate a night mode that reduces blue light emissions - and thus the strain in your old eye globes. You can now also lock your Windows 10 PC at a distance through Windows Hello on your smartphone of choice, and can partake on some crazy Paint marathons with its improved 3D tool, which should elevate it to new, never before seen heights - maybe in the next update you can use the new Paint with Mixed-Reality products?

Have you verified this? Hothardware reported this April 2nd and it was true then briefly, but microsoft pulled the files from update assistant (I tried). I had to decrypt my own esd for my review... heh.

No disrespect, just want the facts of course.

Does it fix the DNS leak issue or is W10 still terrifyingly not private?

Naturally. No disrespect taken. I didn't test it myself, granted (no PC to do so). but follow the second link on the source, Microsoft Blog post detailing the rollout. If Microsoft doesn't get it right, no one will :p

You could verify the info yourself spending about 5 minutes to download. I "verified" and yes I got 15063/CU about 6 minutes ago.

I love how they take features away, and then years later re-introduce them, and everyone celebrates like it is something new. Anyone remember when you could do this in Windows XP? Pepperidge Farm remembers.

Just updated, so far so good. I see Game Mode is on by default, interesting if it makes any difference at all.

It's real, downloading now at 350Kbps, lets see how this laptop of mine likes it.

EDIT well took about an hour even for update to complete. Seems okay so far....like mentioned Game Mode is on by default and can be found in Settings/Gaming.

Left behind a windows.old 32.2GB and a Windows Upgrade 19.9MB folders. I will hold off on cleaning that up for a little bit just to be sure.

Most apparent difference are right click Start menu options which now ALL point to the new Win10 Control Panel and not the old one anymore. Including Apps and Features where you remove the programs.

It is nice to see that Disk Cleanup now actually cleans the damn Windows.old, something that hasn't worked right for ages now. At least something positive :)

windows.old will be deleted in I think two weeks on its own. The update also reset my Nvidia control panel and reset my windows gpu overclocks. Windows antivirus auto stops auto detect scan if it detects other protection installed like malewarebytes or Glaries AV(maybe thats part of gaming mode...need to test).

Anyone have issues with any current release games such as BF1, TitanFall 2, Mass Effect: Andromeda, and many higher profile steam games crashing to desktop when launching after the Creators update? This happens on both AMD and Nvidia, ruling out drivers (Still a possibility). One thing to note those same games work on another system with the same update. Disabled Game Mode.

My next step is a clean installation.

just finished testing 3DMark and no problems there. WHat does your system logs and application logs say about the game crashing, there has to be something there.

That's a good place to check. Where can I find those?

FILE Explorer /My PC right click Manage /Event Viewer/ Window Logs and Check System then Application Logs for errors during the time right before the crashing of the game. Post some screenies and we will take a look at it and see if something jumps out...try stacking the errors of both system and application logs for the screen-shots. Sounds like a DX11 issue to me though. You have two different PC systems with the same issue (at least in your first post it sounded like you do )
hyp36rmaxThis happens on both AMD and Nvidia, ruling out drivers (Still a possibility)
so we should be able to figure the issue out, but I do know that ATI and NVidia both have DX11 in common with the apps that are crashing on your PC's, so thats my hunch right off the bat.

PS. This section was probably not the best spot for these post though as it's the "News" section.

For me this happens when I run Crossfire, turning off Crossfire completely bypass the issue.
