Canadian Police Slay Zombie Network With up to 1 Million Members

In response to one of the largest hacking scams in the history of Canada, police from Quebec raided several homes across Quebec, and arrested 16 people, between the ages of 17 and 26. Their crimes, other than making a million zombies, include creating phishing sites that earned them a respectable kickback of $45 million CAD. Canadian authorities claim that these million computers were mainly in Poland, Brazil, Manitoba, and America. Government computers may have been compromised as well, but investigators will not disclose where those computers may have been. Regardless, many of these zombies are coming back from the brink, and it seems this crisis is, for the most part, contained.Source: Neowin.net

Wow, that's like 42 Million$ US.

I'm thinking there needs to be a North American standard currency, like Euros.

We could call them Dollars. And use this $ symbol to represent them! Woo!

Damn zombies. Damn them!

zombies are a bot network - think something like F@H, but without user consent. Imagine a server farm, but its a virus spreading out the code to make the machines do the work... with a million PC's, brute password hacking is quite simple for example.

I remember Craig's server was bashed by a botnet too. I just discovered a keylogger this week, something Spybot S&D didn't detect and Zone Alarm's built-in anti-spy did.

Shadow, everyone knows guns won't stop zombies! The only way to stop zombies in their tracks is by putting on a Micheal Jackson album so they dance uncontrollably.
