I've got my i7 rig coming in soon, and I've got to say I am lusting over the GTX280. The IQ is much better than the 4870x2 and GTX260 I owned, and the frames are impressive

I'll have scores with the i7 920 in a bit!

the GTX280s timings are 710c/1450sc/1250ram

stupid question.... 2 parts...

1. 180.60 drivers take away the fan slider in evga precision. can i fix it or do i just keep using rivatuner?

2. will precision OC both cards at the same time when in SLI?

Well, I have a Phenom 9600BE at 2.4GHz. (100mhz oc.. lol). So its not a benching beast. My Crysis Warhead framerate went from 30 in Gamer setting with a 8800GTX stock clocks to 44 with the XFX GTX260 BE stock clocks. In Enthusiast it went from 19-20 to 40 with the GTX260. Only a loss of 4FPS from Gamer to Enthusiast setting. :rockout:

Its definitely a big improvement over the 8800GTX. My only bottleneck right now is the 9600BE. I'm patiently awaiting the Phenom II's (Deneb). I haven't had any time to do some real benching but I can do so tonight just for fun. It's going to be embarrassing in certain benches due to my CPU.

1. Use the newest version of EVGA....that fixes the issue.

Guys, bit confused here. My eVGA GTX 260 is already set at 1.12, and my 3D and 2D seem higher than the opening post, which is 3D:1.12v and 2D:1.11V and the max I can change EXTRA to is 1.15.
192 version.
I have a 62.00.1A.00.60 Bios with a 8/05/08 date.

Get a little more info on the card by chance? brand? model? is it a pre-oc'd version?

Really the bios mod doesn't seem to help many reach better clocks, my 216 GTX260 runs on lower voltage than the 192 card did. Really the only thing I mess with bios for is the fan mod.

The 9600BE will be replaced once the Deneb's are released. Then I will have some real numbers.

Nice. I bet you can get the shaders to 1512 minimum and possibly 1566. Core is max 1/2 of shaders so that would translate to 756 or 783 on the core. Probably need to set the fan to 70% or 80% to keep temps under control. The GTX2xx responds better to temps than to Vcore from what I have seen.
