Deathloop Wins Game of the Year From NAVGTR

NAVGTR CORP. - The National Academy of Video Game Trade Reviewers, a 501(c)(3) non-profit media organization of 1,200 media voters and 13,200 subscribers, has announced winners for its 21st annual awards program honoring video game design and programming. Leading all winning games is Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart (7), followed by Psychonauts 2 with 5 awards. Deathloop, Metroid Dread, and Resident Evil 4 VR each won 3 awards. Far Cry 6, Halo Infinite, It Takes Two, Life is Strange: True Colors, Little Nightmares II, Resident Evil Village, Returnal, Tales of Arise, and The Medium each won 2 awards. Additional winners include Age of Empires IV, Forza Horizon 5, Kena: Bridge of Spirits, Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, and The Artful Escape.

Deathloop earned highest honors as Game of the Year. It Takes Two, Returnal, The Medium, and Deathloop were the only original intellectual properties to win multiple awards. Sébastien Mitton won the most awards (3) as an individual. Voters were polled and asked to identify the most interesting races. The writing awards were deemed the most interesting races. Psychonauts 2 won the award for Writing in a Comedy over The Artful Escape, The Good Life, It Takes Two, and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. Life is Strange: True Colors won the award for Writing in a Drama over Before Your Eyes, Far Cry 6, Little Nightmares II, and Twelve Minutes.

NVIDIA Founder and CEO Jensen Huang to Receive Prestigious Robert N. Noyce Award

The Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) today announced Jensen Huang, founder and CEO of NVIDIA and a trailblazer in building accelerated computing platforms, is the 2021 recipient of the industry's highest honor, the Robert N. Noyce Award. SIA presents the Noyce Award annually in recognition of a leader who has made outstanding contributions to the semiconductor industry in technology or public policy. Huang will accept the award at the SIA Awards Dinner on Nov. 18, 2021.

Steam Unveils the Best of 2020 Game Awards

Steam has recently published their Best of 2020 awards which highlight the best selling, and most played games of 2020. The awards include six categories including Top Sellers, Top New Releases, Top Selling VR Games, Top Early Access Graduates, Most Played Games, and Top Controller Games. The 100 games in each list are ranked as Platinum (1st - 12th), Gold (13th - 24th), Silver (25th - 40th), and Bronze (41st - 100th) with each rank of games being randomly sorted.

Starting with the Top Sellers we have Grand Theft Auto V, Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege, Cyberpunk 2077, Red Dead Redemption 2, DOOM Eternal, Monster Hunter: World, Dota 2, Among Us, Destiny 2, PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS, and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive all taking the top platinum rating.

2020 DICE Awards See Untitled Goose Game Win Game of the Year Award; Control is Big Winner in 2019 Gaming Landscape

The 2020 DICE (Design, Innovate, Communicate, Entertain) Awards offered their Game of the Year title to "Untitled Goose Game", developed by Indie Studio House House. That game also took home the "Outstanding Achievement for an independent Game" award, as well as Outstanding Achievement in Audio Design.

The awards were also good for Control, the paranormal-esque game developed by renowned Remedy Entertainment. The game was victor in four different categories: Action Game of the Year, Outstanding Achievement in Game Direction, Outstanding Achievement in Art Direction, and Outstanding Achievement in Original Music Composition. Disco Elysium, the quasi-combatless story-based RPG from ZA/UM Studios that was 2019's biggest achievement (for this writer at least) won the Outstanding Achievement in Story award. Nominees for Game Awards Show 2018 Outed - And There are a Lot of PS4 Exclusives

The nominees for the 2018 Game Awards have been announced, and... It seems that us PC gamers are missing out. I myself am missing out, despite owning my own PS4 system; there's just so much time one can have in between - the other kind of - life. However, the range of nominees that are exclusive to Sony's system is relentless in showing us that there may be life on the other side of the pond.

There are a whole lot of categories for this one, so I'll take my editor's discretion in calling your attention to the Game of the Year, Best Game Direction, and Best Narrative categories, where exclusives to Sony's platform God of War and Marvel's Spider-Man are nominated in all three categories. Detroit: Become Human, another PS4 exclusive, eeked its way into both Best Game Direction and Best Narrative categories as well, and console exclusive (for now) Red Dead Redemption 2 is nominated in all three categories. Asetek Wins 2013 Data Center Dynamics EMEA Award for Innovative Liquid Cooling

Asetek, the world's leading supplier of computer liquid cooling solutions, announced today that its RackCDU technology won the "Future Thinking & Design Concepts" award at the 2013 DatacenterDynamics EMEA Awards. Held on December 12th at the Lancaster London Hotel in London, RackCDU was chosen from among four finalists in the Europe/Middle East/Africa region (EMEA).

AMD Recognized for Excellence in Public Relations

AMD today announced a double win at the International Public Relations Association's 2013 Golden World Awards. AMD was named winner in two categories for its PR campaign conceived for the launch of the AMD Radeon HD 7990 graphics card.

MSI MOA 2012 "STEEL WORLD" Kicks off in Americas

Celebrating its 5th anniversary, MSI's Master Overclocking Arena (MOA) joins the most stable Military Class III components with record-breaking overclocking performance. Themed "Steel World", MSI has forged the first evolution starting with the American Regional Qualifiers on the world-class overclocking community website HWBOT.org on April 13, 2012.

The American Regional Qualifiers this year consist of three stages: 3DMark11, 3DMark03 and SuperPI 32M. Each with a different point scheme. There will be no model limitation on MSI mainboards and graphics cards, however entries are limited to single CPU and GPU setups. A cut-off elimination will be applied on May 4th (75% of the contest period) after which the qualifiers will continue with only the best 15 overall participants.

Inaugural Intel Marketing Innovation Awards Announced

Recognizing standout marketing campaigns within the Intel Inside and Intel Brand Advantage programs, Intel Corporation feted a handful of companies with the first Intel Marketing Innovation Awards.

Fujitsu took the Grand Prix for its LIFEBOOK4Life campaign, being the best all-around entry among the various award categories. Fujitsu's campaign sought to increase brand relevance and drive sales for LIFEBOOK notebooks based on the second-generation Intel Core vPro processor family. The campaign targeted IT decision-makers in SMB, enterprise and the channel in 40 countries across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and India. The campaign resulted in a 65 percent sales increase by integrating innovative social media activities via LinkedIn, Facebook, word-of-mouth, augmented reality and viral videos with standard advertising.

Portal 2 and Battlefield 3 Win Big at BAFTA Video Games Awards

BAFTA recognised Portal 2 as the Best Game in its 2012 Video Games Awards. The smash-hit from Valve, also went on to win Best Design, and Best Story. Battlefield 3, on the other hand, went on to win Best Online Multiplayer, Best Audio Achievement, and GAME Award of 2011. Batman: Arkham City bagged Best Action, and Best Performer (Mark Hamill, who voiced The Joker). Portal 2 has been a centerpiece at Video Game achievement awards this year.

Eee PC is Forbes Asia's Product of the Year for 2008

ASUS' Eee PC has been named Forbes Asia's Product of the Year for 2008, right after being crowned Stuff Magazine's Gadget of the Year and Computer of the Year. In justifying its selection, Forbes hailed the Eee PC for "its innovation and disruption", and added that the "ultraportable" netbook had "changed the global PC industry". This new addition to the Eee PC's mantle joins numerous other awards chalked up in the media, design and industry circles over the past year, most notably NBC.com's Best Travel Gadget and the prestigious G-Mark Award.

Hardware & Game Awards for 2007

We informed you about what PC World thought were the biggest disappointments in 2007 this Tuesday.

The folks at Bit-tech have gone the other way, and made a Top 10 list of games, as well as giving out awards for best hardware of 2007.

Spanning across all platforms, Orange Box took spot number 1 for the game of the year. The package includes Half Life 2, Half Life 2: Episode 1, Portal, Half Life: Episode 2 as well as Team Fortress 2. World in Conflict, BioShock, SuperMario Galaxy and others are also on the list.

On the hardware chart, Intel's Q6600 won "Best Processor", NVIDIA's 8800 GT 512MB is deemed to be the "Best graphics product" and the award for "Best chipset" went to Intel's P35 Express.
