ATI X1800 GTO to X1800 XL Mod Impossible

According to OCWorkbench the modded HIS X1800GTO card from HKEPC (we reported a few days ago) is a fake. After preflashing with the X1800XL firmware, the device id remains at 0x710A. Instead the GPU coreclock goes up to 520MHz and memory remains at 500MHz. The number of pipelines remains at 12.

That is too bad. I am not sure why anyone would buy the GTO, I would rather pick up an x850xt.

I suppose they didn't reinstall the Drivers, so that the Pipes aren't shown correctly.
Another opportunity could be, that only the ICQ3 cards - that have been flashed at HKEPC - are flashable.
Let's see how other testers will report...

all i saw on the hkepc was some pics that could easily been photoshoped and a bunch of question marks....doesnt prove alot to me anyway...
