AOC Readies Two New IPS LED Monitors

AOC is working on two new widescreen PC monitors featuring LED-backlit IPS LCD panels, including the 21.5-inch i2267Fwh and 23-inch i2367Fh. The two build on the design of the recently launched i2757Fm. The two feature full-HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution, 178°/178° viewing angles, 250 cd/m² brightness, mega-contrast, and 5 ms response time. The two are characterized by slim bezels that are no more than 5.8 mm thick. The three feature HDMI and D-Sub inputs, and 2W stereo speakers. The i2267Fwh measures 498.3 x 120.6 x 375.6 mm (WxDxH), the i2367Fh 531.4 x 120 x 394 mm.

Well at least 1080 makes sense as a resolution with small panels like these, any word on pricing or if they have versa mounts ?

So tablets now get 1600p screens (Nexus 10) and our lovely 24" monitors are stuck in the 1080p quicksand.

The monitor industry is full of nothing but fail right now. It's the one thing I'm actually rooting for Apple on... that their retina display fad will kick in and get these lazy ass monitor manufacturers to up the screen resolution.

1080p was high res 5 years ago, but it's not any more, and I'm happy to rant about it on every single monitor announcement until manufacturers change it. :banghead:

Plenty of 1600p or 1440p monitors out there. Take your pick if you have enough cash. Or rant like an **** each time a new cheap monitor is announced.

1440/1600p monitors have come down very little in price over the past 5 years compared to what 1080p monitors have done. And no high resolution monitors exist that I'm aware of below the 27" mark.

Both things are problems and reflect the practices of lazy companies and un-discerning consumers.
