NVIDIA forbids factory overclocking of G80
NVIDIA has told all its partners that it will not allow for factory overclocking of it's cards. NVIDIA wants vendors to stick to the core and memory clocks that it sets, to prevent fiascos like what happened to the 7900GT. Overclocked editions of the card caused a very high return rate of the cards, and NVIDIA just does not want that to happen again.

Manufacturer screening varied way too much for this to be true.
Especially gainward. their cards always kicked rear end (golden samples) because they purposefully used better ram, etc. ;) Not even close. try gainward. ;)
Umm, that company that was taken overhas nice quality video quality....
