Utube.com sues Youtube.com

Is that a U or You? Utube (Universal Tube & Rollform Equipment Corporation ), a manufacturer of pipes and other plumbing accessories, has decided to sue the world famous video-hosting site, Youtube. Apparently, many of Youtube's "customers" end up on the Utube web site and vice-versa.

We've had to move our site five times in an effort to stay ahead of the youtube.com visitors," said Universal Tube president Ralph Girkins. "We were there first, by 10 years!" he added.

What a money grab!!! So much of this sueing bs has been going around lately. Whats next? Are companies going to be sueing each other all over the place just because theres other websites with similar names to them? Personally i've never made the UTube mistake

Ralph Girkins STFU you jabroni!!!, all these scum nut gready people waiting untill youtube got bought before deciding to sue hopefully it gets thrown out should it get to court and he has to pay all the costs. Utube and Youtube are totally diffrent products and only a moron could mistake the two why on earth doesnt he use universaltube.com instead and solve all the problems?

why attack youtube. they won't win and all they are doing is hurting an awesome website.

i love how they waited until after youtube.com was bought for billions of dollars before suing. go ahead and tell me this isn't wholly financially motivated and has nothing to do with actual wrong doing

Why not sue the fu**ing stupid people who are lazy enough to type: utube into their browser... Honestly, that's like me suing a guy who lives near me because he has the same name as me so I get sent half his bills...

I just like how the guy said: "We were there first, by 10 years!"... not only is this funny but childish too. "sir do you have any evidence to support you having your website established 10 years prior to the other company"?... "no, but my mommy seen it and she will testify"....

tube as in TV, not tube as in tubing. I'm sure they didnt think of this site when they came up with the name youtube.

I guess I got a little pwned... its not like I was being serious, I was just pointing out how unprofessional the man sounded coming to his defense. If we wanted to go all technical we could have just told him to leave his commenting in court instead of something that does nothing but show up in a techpowerup headline.

News like this does WAY more then go in a TPU headline! It gets the newsposter a solid $1.50, and lets you guys discuss how pointless it is :D. I love my job.
